Back pain :(

I seriously want to cry!!!

I have such bad upper back pain today :/ the pain is only on my upper back and nothing seems to help! I've had cramps for the last couple days and now this!! I can't find a comfortable position!! I just wish my little girl would come! I'm 38 weeks today and ready For her to be here.

Anyone else have upper back pain? I thought it was normally only lower back during pregnancy.

Re: Back pain :(

  • Mine is my lower back and today was the WORST. I'm actually in bed already and have been for awhile. I will be 38 weeks tomorrow. I'm wanting her to hold off at least one more week, until we're at 39 weeks, or longer before being born. BUT I'm so miserable I just want to stay in bed until then. I can barely walk because of my right hip and all the back pain.

  • I have been having upper and middle back pain for the last few days now. My doctor thinks it's from my job. I stand, bend and walk around all day. I'll be 38 weeks on Monday and will gladly welcome little boy here. Back pain is the worst. The hearing pad barely helps at all.
  • My upper and mid back have been hurting too. I'm not sure if its due to pregnancy, or if it was from swimming since its not my lower back, so I've tried to be more mindful of stretching before and after. We got a back massager that's been helping and use a heating on the really bad days. Good luck, we're almost there!
  • I get these throbbing pulsating back pain waves in my mid to lower back. Almost like it coincides with my heart beat. It's very uncomfortable and it's usually after I sit down. It's such a deep strange sensation. I don't think they are back contractions but I don't know? I don't have Braxton hicks or have felt what people talk about. But I definitely feel like my hips and pelvis are becoming more and more sore every day. My sciatic nerve is irritated for sure. Meh! So ready to just have my baby already.
  • I could have written this exact post, only I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and have a lot longer to go. You are not alone!

    Me too!
  • I get more upper back pain on days when she's putting more pressure on my ribs. A warm bath and using a foam roller seem to give a little relief
  • Everyday I'm dying at work! Mine is in the mid upper back also (in line with the top of my belly bump). I googled it and got some results on other sites that said it could be from nerves getting pinched together due to the pregnancy. I think the worst is when I'm driving, it gets so bad I feel like my back is spasming in pain. I've been going to physical therapy to help the last couple weeks but it's slow progress, they gave me some new stretches to try out Monday, but I don't have anywhere to do them here in my office (floor is too dirty, I work in construction). Good luck ladies, hope you all find better ways of coping with the pain then me, I give up! Just going to know I'll be miserable for 4.5 more weeks, due at the end of September. :(
  • I've had mid to upper back pain basically where the back of my ribs are and my doctor said its pressure from growing uterus and baby.
  • I just had my first experience with back pain last night. Mine hurt so bad I was in tears and just had to go to bed early. Still hurting today but definitely not as bad as it was last night. I think baby girl is laying on a sciatic nerve. :(
  • I had horrible back pain from my neck all the way to my tail bone. I started seeing a chiropractor 6 weeks ago and it was the BEST thing I have EVER done. I will be 37 weeks tomorrow and I hardly have any back pain. I do have a little bit of pain ever so often when I get BH, but they aren't nearly as bad as they were before I started to get adjusted. I have one more appointment at 38 weeks, but then I will not get to schedule again until after delivery. I highly recommend getting adjusted.
  • I highly recommend buying a bath bomb (I get mine from Lush) and laying in the tub. Cured all my back pain a few days ago and was so relaxing. Mine tends to hurt more my upper back as well
  • Warm bath, heating pads and prenatal yoga on YouTube! It will help stretch your back muscles!
