Nesting at warp speed this weekend!

Anyone else suddenly have that nesting instinct just kick in with no warning and at full speed?

I mean it isn't all that unusual for me to be a bit of a clean freak when my husband has gone off to work - He leaves the country frequently for work and I tend to do a good detailed clean afterwards. However I have never had such a direct urge and almost compulsion to clean ALL the things, ALL the time. It honestly slid in under the radar with no notice from me until I had started vacuuming a second time for no reason. Next thing I know, I've started reorganizing the whole house, the hospital bags (food, me, baby), sanitized every surface we have in the place, dusted absolutely every thing, mopped the floors twice over and even started on the room that I've been avoiding since we bought the house. I've done this almost every day now and the only stuff I haven't dealt with is just stuff I can't physically lift!

I've been this way for the Last couple of weeks. There hasn't been a stitch of dirty laundry in my house and I've swept, vacuumed, and steamed the floors almost every day. I hate the thought of leaving the house messy when I have the baby. Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I say I'm cleaning because there really isn't anything left for me to clean but j can't stop!

Exactly! There's nothing for me to clean so I do the same things over, only avoiding them when I know it'd be silly of me to try. There's some boxes sitting in my living room from our move and it is literally driving me nuts not to be able to lift them and put them in the basement!

My house looks amazing but I see the tiniest dust or dirty dish and it starts the fun fest all over.

Starting to think pregnancy drives us insane.

Mine kicked in last night at 6 o'clock... Between everything I wanted to get done last night I didn't go to bed until almost 1 am... And the only reason I went to bed then is because my SO made me! I've already decided I'm doing laundry and scrubbing our apartment today while he's at work!

Mine hasn't kicked in! It's killing me bc I'm 38 weeks and makes me feel like baby girl will never come! Granted, I've gotten all her stuff ready, all her clothes washed and put away, hospital bags packed, and all her nursery is organized....but I just don't have this overwhelming desire to clean!! I really want to so I can feel like I won't be pregnant forever

See I went through this for half the 2nd trimester so now I'm worried that was it! I mean everything really important is done but I would like to get one more good deep clean in before LO gets here (38 weeks now) but I just don't have the stamina. Plus anytime I try to be productive I either start to get contractions or he's on my sciatic nerve... Uhg oh well guess I'll continue watching Netflix >:D<

No more than usual. But I'm a bit of a clean/organized freak anyway and clean when I'm bored. Or upset. Or happy. I just like cleaning.

My house is a disaster and it is making me crazy! I need to get it together but there is so much going on at the moment that I am not getting it done as quickly as possible. I got the bed room done last weekend and I've been keeping that together and now I want to do the living room. I need help from my husband and son because I don't know what can stay and go AND I WILL pull everything apart and clean every inch. I have warned my husband that I was going to go crazy and need to clean every inch of this house and he doesn't seem to get it. He has done a lot to help me get things together but it needs to be finished. I am going to have a hard time going to sleep tonight because all I can think about is what I want to get done. AH!!!!!! Last time I seriously cleaned with a q-tip X_X

Cleaning is my least favorite thing to do (besides cooking). I have started nesting by digging baby stuff out of the attic, but don't have enough energy to start the nursery yet. Maybe this weekend. Yup, at 38 weeks. Ahhh! Wish I had your drive.

Oh man I know that feeling, we moved in mid-June and my husband also works on rotation so he leaves for a month every other month. He'll leave a ton of stuff to be done and it looks legitimately like a tornado ran through whatever room he went into. Leaving a mighty pile for me to figure out and sort IF I know what he intended to keep, file or store.

Our basement was in the worst state it could be for almost two months before nesting kicked in and now I almost have a downstairs livingroom again. It just finally drove me insane.

Since I'm not working now I've been doing a little every day. I seriously slacked when I was working and am finally caught up with regular cleaning. I've been actually cooking this past week and I can tell DH has missed it. I just need to get the spare room ready for my Mom and organize our desk area then I can start with the crazy deep cleaning!

I wish I had this problem. Everytime I sweep my toddlers snacks end up all over the floor. Everytime I turn my back more toys are being chucked around. I clean the tub and it gets covered in bath crayons lol. I fold laundry and she dumps the bin for she can sit in it.

Cleaning is hopeless with a two year old.

Oh I hear you. Already was a clean freak and this place is beyond spotless and I have 3 shedding pets. I'm even wiping the sinks clean and dry after every use. Vacuuming in the morning and often in the evenings. It is getting a touch cra cra.

I think it's also an attempt to have control in a situation we have no control. This waiting game is killing me. I want her to come when she's good and ready but my excitement level is just as high as my pain level. Hehe
