I had a D&C back on June 5th and have been bleeding ever since the 3rd day after surgery, although it had been light to just spotting, all up until last Friday when it started real heavy. It seems to be getting heavier in the last couple days. I've never had bleeding this heavy before in the past. Could this be my period and is the first period after surgery usually real heavy? I called the drs office and they just told me to take 800mg of IB Profen, put my feet up and get some rest. If I have continuous bleeding in a few days then I'm supposed to call them back.
Re: First Period?
I've read that you have to go 20 days without bleeding for it to count as your first AF. (I don't know if it's true, but I've read it in multiple places.) I got what I thought was AF 17 days after I stopped bleeding. It was light, but I figured it counted. I found out about 3 weeks later that I still had leftover hcg, so I'm not sure if I can count that as AF or if it was just some breakthrough bleeding.
The first AF after surgery varies. For some it is heavy and for some it is light. I had that light one that may not have counted, then I had medium one. Perhaps the next one will return to normal. This was the first cycle with normal temps, so that's a good sign.
I hope you feel better soon!

RE says the low egg count is likely causing my recurrent pregnancy loss. Less eggs results in more aneuploidy.

I had 2 weeks of bleeding with my natural MC. Then a blank 7 days. Then spotting which evolved to extremely heavy bleeding and large clots. The bleeding lasted for 14 days.
It was so soon after the MC I was sure it couldn't be my AF but the EPU said that it more than likely was. I took a HPT to check (instructed by midwife) and this was negative.
She did say that the first period can be awfully heavy and painful.
For me, the bleeding was worse with my AF than the actual MC.
Hope you feel better soon lovely x
Days after bleeding is necessarily true. Everyone's body is different and everyone's body heals in its own way. I am so sorry for your loss.
Can't wait to be back to normal so we can start trying again this month! Lots of love support and luck to everyone as always, I'd have been lost these past months without reading everyone's advice and experiences, it helped so much!x
I think you just have to go with when feels right for you doll. If you have lots on and think you'd like a complete break from it all just enjoy your holiday and house move, enjoy your time with hubby and if you feel like being intimate then do so. If a little miracle comes of it, it's meant to be xxx
& im scared too.
I hope you don't get af though Hun, I have my fingers crossed that you get your good news, hopefully we'l both be in the May / June groups soon! xx
