Things that scare baby?

Hahahaha so I know this is TMI but Im just relaxing right and let out a toot that was quite loud and my boy literally leaped to the other side of my stomach I am laughing just so so hard, it must have startled him. That made me think, does anyone have any funny stories similar to this? Basically their baby being startled in there.

  • Oh my goodness that's adorable @chelseajeanene

No funnies here. Baby startles when the dog barks out of nowhere and she startles if my belly is pressing against the counter and I set my cup or a dish down too hard.

This past weekend my husband and I built a closet unit in our bedroom. He got a pine board that we needed to power saw. I held the board steady and she jumped and wiggled while the saw was on. It was quick as it was one board with one cut but it made me feel bad because I hope it didn't make her cry (they can cry in the womb). She seemed highly agitated! Neither of us thought about how it might scare her so he felt bad too. But all is well that ends well.

  • The other night while driving home from dinner we went over a small bridge that will give you butterflies no matter how fast or slow you're going... Well, going over it at about 45 miles must have scared the crap outta our baby cause it felt like she literally jumped in my belly. It was the strangest thing ever! My boyfriend wishes he could have seen it or felt it, I was the passenger! He keeps asking to do it again and I'm like "oh hell no!"
  • Lol my boyfriend playfully spanked me earlier and the baby totally jumped! It was so awkward and funny at the same time!!
  • The sound of a packing tape dispenser thing. Was taping up some boxes for my mom and every time she squirmed around when I'd start. I finally stopped and let someone else do it. I felt bad lol

  • When her big sister, DD1 blows raspberries in my belly and head butts my belly too ... she loves talking in a very loud voice to her little sis and every time without fail DD2 reacts with a jump or movement. I'm thinking that she's probably saying to herself that it's best to stay put for as ling as possible in my belly before she encounters big Sis, aka the pest, lol!
  • Only thing that has startled mine was when lightening hit close during a storm. I kind of expected a reaction when I run the yard equipment, or target shoot. Here's to hoping she's just laid back!
  • When her big sister... loves talking in a very loud voice to her little sis and every time without fail DD2 reacts with a jump or movement. lol!

This is us! It makes me sooo happy my DD1 is already such a big part of the LO's life! When she laughs or is excitedly telling me a story, the baby will start kicking and wiggling. So cute! When my DH wants to feel the baby move he asks DD1 to talk or laugh. :-)
  • @verveine407 my DH totally does the same thing too, so cute!
  • Getting ice out if the fridge. Freaks him out everytime haha
  • My SO will talk to my belly and the initial start of it scares the poor baby.
  • Me n my dh were driving home from an outting and a fire engine drives past blaring its siren very loudly! Poor baby jumped so hard in the belly and i could feel him shaking inside a good 5 mins after. Poor thing. I stroked my belly and soothed talked him to calm down bless him .
  • These are hilarious, I love them! My baby jumped for a while whenever I'd use the hand dryers at work--they're these big honkin' industrial ones that are super loud, but after a couple of weeks baby calmed down. Yesterday I was putting some furniture together and the hammering definitely got baby rolling around!
  • Scared the baby when my stomach growled the other night!:)
  • I was getting into the car and I must have slammed the door a little harder than normal, she about jumped out of me. Made me giggle.
  • Speed bumps. She's squirmed at them since week 20
  • Everytime we go on walks and a dog barks she gets scared haha its the funniest thing ever
  • We had a very strong storm here last month, spawned a few tornado up north and big thunderstorms down here. Some where in the middle of the night when the worse of it was going on there was a mighty large crack of thunder. I had already been awake for a few moments but when that thunder went off my poor baby boy freaked out. I got into what seems to be his favourite calm down position and rubbed what I suspect is his butt. He took a good five minutes to go back to normal and the whole time I felt horrible for him.

  • Okay. Now I'm getting worried because none of that is happening to me and baby.
  • My baby doesn't get scared, in the contrary it almost feels like he is up only when its quiet. When I'm doing yard work, passing vacuum, using blender or my other two kids are making noise. He is very calm and relax. Guess he likes it loud.
  • I've never noticed baby getting startled by noises. He's pretty chill I guess. We've even gone to concerts and he was relaxed the whole time. It sounds pretty adorable though!

Mine doesn't get startled by noise that I've noticed. But my husband's aunt is a bit of a bruiser with physical affection, haha, and she grabbed my stomach and was rubbing it quite hard, and then stuck her face against it. Baby had been calm, but when she grabbed my stomach he was definitely like "WTF," and then kicked her in the face!
  • When I'm sitting in the tub and turn on the jets. Every single time - all 3 of my babies startle with it!
  • I've scared baby girl with farts, it's so hard not to laugh even though you feel bad for scaring them lol.
  • my baby doesn't startle easily, maybe because we are pretty loud people. but one day I was playing Linkin Park in the car and she freaked out! I usually listen to much softer music these days, and I guess that's what she's used to.
