How to safely pop lower back?

Do any moms out there have any suggestions on how to safely pop your lower back while pregnant?

  • I think you just do what you typically would do...

  • Don't self adjust!! It really helps me to lay flat on the ground and bring my knees up as close to my chest as they will go and then rock back and forth. I can usually get a few good pops out of that. If not do child's pose. It's saving my butt
  • What PP said, or you can purchase muscle rollers (like a big rolling pin) and run your back over that. It usually does the trick for me.
  • Both of @maddisonwallace suggestions usually work really well for me. Be careful about doing child's pose in bed though. I do this often when my back is bothering be and I can't sleep. The other night I accidentally fell asleep like that and woke in excruciating pain. Both of my legs had fallen asleep up to my knees. Poor DH h3 probably thought I was I labor!
  • @Leah6120 I saw a specific warning not to roll out your lower back while pregnant. I would get a doctor's OK before doing this.
  • I would love to do what I normally do except my husband usually walks on my back. Its been the only way to do it for a long time. I've tried laying on my back and stretching my knees upward doesnt usually help.
  • Go to the chiropractor! I go once a week and it helps wonders.

  • I second going to a chiropractor! But make sure that they work with pregnant women! I've started going once a week because I'm having severe lower back pain. I'm also going to try out prenatal massage next week!
  • @ChrissyD1203 I had not hurt that, thanks for the heads up!
  • Just went to the chiropractor today for this reason! Helps so so much!
