I'm getting something like it while I'm at my 12th week NT scan. Last time I got one called Verifi, but that was two years ago so I'm not sure if my MFM doc has since changed vendors.

MaterniT21, Verifi, Harmony, (I can't remember what else is out there) are all noninvasive prenatal testing that examines fetal DNA in the maternal bloodstream to determine whether your baby is at risk of Down syndrome, extra sequences of chromosome 13 (trisomy 13), extra sequences of chromosome 18 (trisomy 18) or a sex chromosome abnormality, such as Turner syndrome. The testing can also be used to determine a baby's sex and rhesus (Rh) blood type. I totally copied and pasted that part. The testing can be done as early as 10 weeks.

I'm getting Harmony at 10 weeks b/c my OB offers it to all patients, not just 35+, for $130.

Nope. Those things can be detected with the anatomy scan and wouldn't change the outcome of the pregnancy knowing at 10 weeks vs. 20.

I'm planning to ask my dr but I'm wondering if I were to have a test like this or panorama done early in my pregnancy and then misscarried would it help figure out why I keep miss carrying. That may be a ridiculous thought but they can't tell me the reason after the fact so maybe if they were to have some data beforehand.

I plan to ask my doctor about it. I didn't do the NT scan with DS, but the only reason I'd do it would be to know the gender earlier!!!

We are doing the panorama at 10 weeks because if there's a problem I want to have plenty of time to research it! And it does test for a few things that mean the baby absolutely won't live past a few days past birth, and that would be good to know so I could make a choice about the pregnancy.

I am interested in having this type of test done as well. Mostly because of my "advanced maternal age". *eye roll
I want to be prepared as possible.

@Kimawesome love the eye roll there. The OB nurse described me with that phrase so many times today I felt like I should have walked out of the office and into a nursing home. Or at least gotten on a waiting list for some type of joint replacement.

My first appointment isn't until the first and I am soooo not looking forward to hearing about how old I am. I will be 41 when this LO is born.

I'm 35 and they are giving it to me at week 10! Kinda excited just for the whole gender reveal! Also I do want to know if we have any cause for concern! How 5 years changes things. Was not in advanced maternal age category last pregnancy so this is all new territory.

I am going to speak to my doctor about it or find out if anything is offered at my appt next week. Hopefully they will offer something just to make sure everything is ok since I am also "advanced maternal age".
