Playing music to baby.

I've been playing music on my belly for my little one and sometimes I think he likes it and he gets all wiggly and other times I feel like there is no movement at all. I was just wondering if anyone else is playing music and what kinds of responses your getting from baby.
I was also wondering what your playing to baby. I found a group called rockabye baby and they play popular songs in lullaby music. He seems to like it but I was wondering if different music gets different responses from baby.

    When my husband plays guitar near my belly, I can feel the little one moving!

    I haven't been playing music on my belly, but I've noticed I get certain responses when I'm playing music out loud in the car and singing.  Baby seems to prefer rock music, haha

    I haven't tried playing music specifically for baby, but I do sing to her sometimes, and she moves around a lot when I do.  :)

    I read in What to Expect that you really don't need to put like speakers or headphones on your belly to play music to baby. It actually may be disturbing their normal sleeping and waking patterns. So when baby isn't moving he may be trying to sleep. Also, I like the singing to baby, that way they get music and bond with your voice!

    Edit: Because my silly phone always auto corrects "baby" to "babysitting"

    Some relatives got us a book on science experiments you can do with babies (https://www.experimentingwithbabies.com/ - it's hilarious and safe, I swear!) and I seem to remember reading something about how infants seem to prefer a capella music, i.e. singing with no instrumentation, and also single voices vs. harmony. I think the hypothesis behind it was that baby brains are naturally trying to isolate speech patterns and words so that they can learn to talk, so music that showcases identifiable language really catches their attention! 

    Then again like, all things that fetuses and infants are thinking, we may never really know...

    DH's cousin said she played the same song to her belly daily for half of pregnancy and once the baby was out and they got home from the hospital, when they couldn't calm her, they played the song and it calmed the baby because it was familiar. I kind of want to try this, but need to find a song that won't drive me nuts since I'll hear it too. Lol!

    This one likes ed sherran and imagine dragons. Some rock music, but really moves for slower stuff
