Help?! I don't know how to tell my kids I'm expecting!

Hey everyone! I'm finally allowed to post things and I have a bunch of questions! Ok so first I am a new mom to be! This is my first pregnancy! I have two stepchildren who have been asking me and their Daddy when they are going to have a little brother or little sister! Well it's happened and we are finally pregnant after a long time of trying! I just don't know when it will be a good time to tell the kids we are having a baby? My husband wants to do so now, but I want to wait until I get further along just to make sure everything is ok! Any advice??

I'd probably at least wait till after your first appointment and seeing the baby and a heartbeat before sharing. Also depending on the age of the kids you might want to wait longer so just in case anything happened you wouldn't have to explain to them if something went wrong.

SO's sister asked us to wait till we went to our appointment and got an ultrasound before we told her kids.

I have 3 stepsons who have been asking us the same thing. After some negotiation, and me realizing that DH thought a trimester was only 9 weeks long anyway (how does he have 3 kids??), we've agreed to tell them when I'm 9 weeks. By that time, we will have had 2 or 3 scans and our first appointment with our OB.

That's so exciting! I bet they will be over the moon with the good news. We are waiting to tell my nieces and nephews until after we go for our first ultrasound and confirm a h/b. That's what we did with my 1st LO.

I remember when my parents told me!

They made me come out to the living room and they said they had a surprise for me. (I asked if it was a bike) They said no! You are going to have a brother/sister. I was so floored!!!

Maybe you could have them number the shirts like dad is 1 you are 2 (or vise-versa) then the oldest is 3 and so on... Then you pull out a little onsie and you say "we forgot to make number __!"

I had my 1st appointment with my OB yesterday. He said so far everything seems good! We go back on Sept 21st and my OB (who is AMAZING BTW) said we will be able to hear the heartbeat and I'm hoping we get to see the baby! I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow! My step-kids are 6 & 4!

We will have them this weekend. I want to do something special like make shirts for them and stuff! I'm a very hands on crafty type of person so I want to make it fun for them! I'm just so lost!
