November 2015 Moms

Any other Nesters already?!

This week brought a whole new light to my home. I feel this exited energy to organize & clean each room from top to bottom. It's not the normal cleaning. It's (I'd like every cupboard and place to be organized & clean). :) Hope it lasts so I can get ALL ready for baby early this time.

I also have Polyhydramnois (too much fluid) and feeling discomfort now at 28 weeks. Trying to get everything done before I may not be feeling like doing it or able to as November gets closer.

Anyone else? ;)

im definitely feeling the nesting coming on strong. i spent the later half of the day scrubbing my bathroom for 2 hours and another hour scrubbing walls and doors.
  • I am nesting hardcore... I was only a lithe bit for the last month but last week it got a lot worse.. Now I want to clean and organize everything! Which is hard when your tired and sore! Lol
  • Yep. I was supposed to have jury duty today but I was released from my summons last night so I'm going to ALL of the laundry in the house and get the nursery ready to paint.

  • I am almost finished with DD1's big girl room and then a few touches to the nursery to make it unique for DD2. I will admit, I'm not looking forward to getting out and organizing the clothes but once I start, I'm sure I will immerse myself in it.

I have no desire to clean anymore but I do have a need to organize. Weird, I know.

  • I have been nesting for awhile now but I am running out of things to do! I haven't had my baby shower yet so I don't have anything but hand me down clothes, a dresser and some décor. I already washed, folded and organized the clothing. I am anxiously awaiting for more to do! I am still working full time as of now, hoping that will change by the end of September. I have a list of about 9 frozen/crock pot recipes I want to tackle in Mid-October, and I also want to make my own padsicles for post partum. I have cleaned 3 rooms out entirely, taken endless amounts of crap to goodwill. I am super excited and actually wish I had more to do! LOL but I have to admit after 30 minutes I am ready for a nap!

See that's my other issue is I don't really have much to do since I haven't had a shower yet and I don't have as much to organize and I can't paint our room because we live in an apartment so I'm pretty much just trying not to lose it...
  • I so badly wish I could be nesting right now... There is dust everywhere that I know I should take care of, but I am just too exhausted. I have clothes I could be organizing, but I don't really want to. And then with the discussion of washing clothes yesterday, I realize I need to do laundry now too! Yet I'm just sitting here binge watching Netflix.

I have a shower in 3 weekends. Maybe I'll nest after that.

Same here. :) It got a lot stronger this week! Happy Nesting. :)

  • My SO is killing me.  I'm nesting and wanting to organize and decorate like crazy and he's all, "I'll put that together tomorrow.  We don't need pantry shelving.  I don't think we need a homework station."  I'm not sure he realizes the degree to which he is putting his life in danger.

Lol. Yes I warned my DH too. I said "it's going to be this way for the next month or two so you can work with me or make it difficult". Haha. He's been good and knows this stage.

I feel you. I work, rest, work, rest. This week I'll go hours straight and then crash at nap time with my 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 boys. Feeling an urgency since we have a possibility of preterm labor, but have to work smart and take breaks. :) Hoping the nesting bug sneaks up soon for you. I love these days! They don't happen like this any other time.

  • Yep. Hit me a couple weeks ago, even though I doubted it would because I'm the Queen of Lazy. I threw out SO MUCH stuff, and it felt amazing. Organized closets, drawers, cabinets, etc. Now I'm crawling out of my skin because I've ran out of things to do. We get our crib next Friday, but the crib sheet & skirt are on back order until mid-September. So is the ottoman I bought to go with our glider. Until the baby shower, there's not a whole lot I can do. It's torture. I keep popping my head into the nursery looking for something to do, kind of like when you keep looking in the fridge, even though you know nothing has magically appeared since the last time you looked. :)) :))

  • I'm usually pretty neurotic and obsessed with cleaning. Like I can't sleep if I think I should have vaccumed but didn't. Sometimes I'll actually get out of bed at like 11 pm and start cleaning bc I don't think I did a good enough job. Nesting should be a piece of welcomed cake :)
  • I want to have this wonderful nesting feeling take over me because I have so so much clutter but I just haven't felt it yet. Maybe tomorrow hahha
  • I should add that I have 2 laundry baskets full of clean laundry that needs to be put away, but can't find the energy to put it away. I'd rather vacuum, or scrub the floors, as odd as that sounds.

I married the Prince of Procrastinaion(I can thank his mother, the queen). I generally start the project(s) and get to a point where he HAS to finish without putting it off.

  • I have the nesting bug hardcore! And it's killing me! Every little thing, even my walls are calling my name to be cleaned. And I want to, but I'm on modified bed rest. So, I can only do so much at a time! I want it done NOW!!!
    Hahahah
  • For the other Nesters out there.  One word that is both awesome and evil - Pinterest.  Oh how I love to hate it with it's stylish, organized rooms taunting me as I look around my house.  My bf now gets scared whenever he sees me on it because he knows I'm going to want to go a completely different direction than what I had previously suggested.  .
I spend about 80% of my evenings on Pinterest. It's definitely an addiction! I have so much DIY nursery decor & organization that I want to do, and I'm not sure if realistically I have the time to do it all.

  • I'm really wishing I could be nesting. I've got the urge to clean so bad, but haven't been able to move for the last 3 days. Hips and back are just to bad to do anything. I'm hoping it's better soon cause I really want to get back to cleaning!

  • I want to start on the nursery soooo bad but am wanting to refinish the dresser/ changing table and with it being 95 degrees outside SO thinks it would be best to wait until next month when it is cooler. Such a buzz kill. Then my baby shower isn't until 9/20 so am also waiting for that before I continue purchasing much more. The struggle is real

  • Definitely in nesting mode...although I have zero desire to clean. I've been itching to set up the nursery, but it was DH's office (he works from home, so it was quite packed). After not so subtly hinting that he needed to get the eff out of there for the past few weeks, I finally got all crazy preggo on him- he moved everything out on Sunday! Hoorah! I can't wait for this weekend, when I'll get to decorate and organize to my heart's content :)

Side question- is it too early to wash the baby's clothes? I'm not sure why, but I was thinking this had to wait until closer to d-day. Any thoughts?

Speaking of Pinterest, I actually DO have something I can work on tonight. SO & I are going to Target, so I'm going to pick up some tissue paper for the tissue paper pom poms I found on Pinterest.

Thanks @VexedMommy for the reminder! :))

There's actually a recent thread about washing baby clothes! I believe it was posted in the last day or two.

  • @vexedmommy- that is GORGEOUS! That would definitely be a Pinterest fail if I attempted it, but perhaps you're craftier than me :)

  • Now that I had my shower I was able to basically finish the nursery. I'm so excited to be done, have Everything washed and ready to go. I'm exhausted from organizing and cleaning the last two days, and glad to be relaxing today. I know I'll keep up the house cleaning starting again tomorrow. I keep putting off the big "scrub down" because I feel it'll just dirty up again. But I'm ready to start crawling on the floor to get baseboards and locking up all cupboards. It's getting so close, but still so far. Ahhhh!
  • I've been nesting for awhile now! I took off 6 whole days and I already made a list of when needs to be cleaned... I know I'm nesting because one thing on my list is dusting the walls... lol! My husband has been really great about doing the things I have asked him to do lately and I hope that stays!
  • I guess this is why I shampooed my carpets this weekend? (We have hardwoods throughout the whole house so it was just a couple large rugs, but still!)
  • Oddly enough, I have a new found obsession with yard work. Exept its not a yard, its actually an acre and I've made my husband dig about a dozen holes for plants and trees I keep buying. I even yelled at my neigbour to get his shit off my property (we have no fence) and his wife is mad at me because the shit is now by her pretty things. ( I dont even care)
  • I've done about all I can for now to the nursery. Got the crib, dresser and got my rocking chair yesterday that was my grandmothers that we had redone. Now just waiting for the showers and then I can do some serious organizing.

It would be a fail if I tried it too.  I just love it and keep trying to convince myself I could do something similar.  lol.

  • The nesting big hit me early with this pregnancy. The nursery has been almost ready for a while. Last item to painting the dresser which I am having professionally done. He is picking it up this weekend. All my projects for put on hold bc I'm on pelvic/modified bed rest. I'm not supposed to bend over or pick things up. I guess it's a good thing I started early on the nursery.
