Daily Symptoms - Tuesday August 25

Please post any symptoms, questions, or concerns here to avoid flooding the board.

Hello ladies, how are we feeling today?

So far nothing to write home about, just the usual hungry and slightly constipated, but honestly nothing that is that much different than life pre-preggo, haha. Today I have to go pick up some paperwork for student teaching (just found out I will be in a 4th grade classroom for the first half, and a 2nd grade after that), but other than that get to keep it lowkey for just a liiiittle bit longer before life gets crazy for the school year!

Re: Daily Symptoms - Tuesday August 25

  • I have been feeling really good. I have more energy than my SO right now haha. But I have been cramping on and off a lot. Sort of like uterine camping but slightly feels like gas cramping. I have been fixated on Ben & Jerry's since about week 15 so it might be my slight lactose intolerance, either way. Going to talk to my doc about it to make sure it's not (or it is) Braxton Hicks. I've read about the cramping and from what it seems it's totes norm (right?) so...that's all! Boobs are like bowling balls.

    A/S tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

  • Good luck at your ultrasound! Ours is in a week and I can't wait!!!
I'm feeling great today. Happy, awake, full (for the next ten minutes)...can't complain! Things are good :-) I just wish this whole "amazing pregnancy hair" thing would kick in.
  • @amargaret24, I've had some weird cramping too. I think it's Braxton Hicks, but I'm not too sure. I didn't have them in my last pregnancy. If I walk around, or lay down a bit, they seem to go away. I believe it's normal? I have my OB appointment tomorrow so I'm asking then as well. It might happen once or twice every other day for me.

@Malic, I don't have amazing pregnancy hair either. I don't have 'The Glow' either. I look like a bag of crap!

Baby girl is very active lately! She is constantly kicking me, and my husband can finally feel it. I let my 2.5 year old touch my stomach the other day and he felt her kick. His mind was blown! I keep telling my kids they are having a sister and she is in my belly, but I think now that they can feel her, it's starting to make a little bit of sense to them.

  • @Malic and @SummerFall03 My hair and nails are MORE brittle and my skin is HORRIBLE! I had clear skin throughout all of puberty, so I'm at my wit's end with these pimples! My Ovia app says the nice hair and nails allegedly kick in within the next month, we'll see...I was really looking forward to lush hair and strong nails, ngl.

  • A/S today!  Definitely feeling a lot bumpier this week and my skin is finally clear!

@CaraBoonie, I've been doing a combo of spot treatment with tea tree oil (very sparingly) and non-comedogenic moisturizer (day and night) and my skin has drastically improved.

I'm hoping so! I do have strong nails, but my nails have always been pretty good.

My skin just started to break out badly! My kids keep asking me if I need a band aid! lol

  • @nlwz123 Yup. I've been doing the same thing. It just keeps getting worse. Since I usually have good skin, I've always gotten away with a gentle non-medicated cleanser and oil-free moisturizer (I like LUSH products) and nothing else, but I've added a tea tree toner and tea tree oil spot treatment since starting to break out and it's done nothing...in high school when I would get the odd pimple, I'd blast it into submission with harsh chemicals, which I can't do now!

Sorry, this is probably TMI, but are you getting cystic acne?  Tea tree oil (for me, anyways) was good for the pimple I'd get every now and then, but I was getting serious cystic acne (which hurts like a bitch) pre-pregnancy and my dermatologist had be on a prescription.

What kind of makeup do you use?

Yeah, I figure it's BH cramping. It happens mostly at night time when I'm laying down oddly enough. I went on a long walk/run yesterday and didn't have anything afterwards, but the minute I relaxed it was like BOOM. Especially when I'm crawling in and out of bed to pee every night. I notice "emptying" myself, in any form (lol) increases the cramping. I'm not too worried. LMK what your doc says!

Do you run every day?  I noticed that if I over-exercised I would get some cramping so I toned it down.

  • @nlwz123 no, yesterday was a super fluke. It was more for my psycho dog who needed to "expel some energy" because he was annoying me so bad. The running part lasted about 1/4 maybe 1/2 mile. I gotta be careful with pushing myself with exercise too because I cramp during usually. This is more of a sharp cramp and in a diff place than what I'm used too. The only reason I'm not truly concerned is because I'm crediting the possibility of gas, BH cramping, growing baby, and general abdominal discomfort.

I don't believe so? It doesn't hurt. And I normally don't wear any makeup at all most days, at the very most I'll put on a light BB cream for sun protection, I only bother with makeup for occasions.

I really think it's just a hormonal thing and there's nothing to be done about it, and it will go back to normal post-pregnancy, so I'm not fretting about it, it just sucks for now. My mom also never had bad skin but broke out horribly while pregnant with my brother (but oddly enough not with me or my sister), so it's just a thing that happens. I'd rather some bad skin than any spotting or vomit or any of the scarier symptoms other ladies seem to have dealt with :)

  • Feeling pretty good, a little tired.  My skin is breaking out pretty badly.  I had been using the Belli spot treatment, but the smell has really gotten to me and makes me nauseous.  I'm going to ask my doctor about it at my appointment today.  Baby girl is moving a ton!  I've been feeling her move and kick every day for about the last week.  Definitely makes it all feel more real. :)

  • @caraboonie @kmconnell22 @summerfall03 - for those who are experiencing skin probzzzz. Not sure where the source of the breakouts are (I am having them like wildfire on my back and chest, wow cool!!!!!) but for your face, have you tried using an extractor tool? I got one the other week at rite aid and watched some youtube videos (for much longer than probably needed. I love those weird extraction videos, ew!!) But have been diligently extracting black heads, white heads, anything that looks suspect from my face and have been really happy with it! I know cystic acne is almost unavoidable as my good friend had it and had to just get injection shots to calm it down but maybe for smaller issues in the Tzone area. Just a thought........

I've used one, but you have to really careful and make sure it's sterile and you clean you skin well right after, otherwise you'll infect the rest of the surrounding area.

Buzzfeed covered the instagram page Dr. Pimple Popper and it's the grossest thing of my life.

I'm using Ocean Salt scrub from Lush, and it seems to be cutting back the length of my breakouts. I find them to be bad for 1 day, and clear up shortly after. I have never heard about the extractor tool..I'm afraid to youtube it! lol

I am obsessed with my extractor, but only use it on blackheads and whiteheads that have come to a head (the kind you would normally pop by hand). It works for those, but I have just bumps with no heads on my cheeks the past few weeks.

Well I have the pleasure of owning a rescue Terrier/Chihuahua mix! He is our wonderful terrihuahua! He came from a very abusive home where he was tied up for his entire existence. In fact, he back leg didn't even develop properly because of it. Apparently there were 2 dogs off leash that terrorized him too. So he has this disposition that can at times be a bit MUCH. Such as wanting to run or walk for 3 hours (lots of pent up walking to get out), be aggressive towards other dogs and/or my friends, or mail people, etc. We have a trainer though and have been working with him a lot. He's gotten SO much better and when we are back from work in October, are starting a "pregnancy program"....we love him though! He is cuddled up with me right now!

Ugh yeah, my friend had that. All she could do was get cortisone injections. They really did help but she had a dermatologist covered by her insurance so it was basically free to her...

LOL it's a twisted road once you start youtubing extractions! My personal fav is Dr. Pimple Popper. HA!
  • I am super hungry and still exhausted quite often throughout the day. Trying to relax today because tomorrow and Thursday I will be traveling. I've been in Georgia visiting my parents for 8 days and it's time to go home. Flight is tomorrow evening from Atlanta and gets into Amsterdam Thursday morning, then a plane to Birmingham, then a train ride home. I am anxious due to how crappy and full of delays the trip over was. I have been feeling flutters of movement since last week and BH cramping on and off for a few days.

I hate long travel days. I had a few of these in the last couple of months. The things that made it all possible for me were a shawl that doubles as a blanket, all the snacks, my neck pillow which also turns into a little pillow for my SO's shoulder, and hood headphones. Water.

YES! My hair seems more brittle than ever! It's shedding and breaking so much :-( At least my skin is clearing up a bit, so I don't feel like a complete ogre.

AHHH! He's REALLY cute!  It's really hard dealing with dogs that come from backgrounds like that, but hopefully the pregnancy program will help him out!
