  I'll be doing a regular chocolate or white cake for the adults and older kids.  DD will get a cupcake to smash.  We're having it at a park so I won't be able to wash her up like I would if I was home, so no smash cake for us.

  Quentin will have an oversized cupcake, and everyone else eats small individual cupcakes that will be yellow cake (some vanilla icing, and some chocolate). Makes clean up a lot easier!
  I also plan to color the cupcake icing (some blue and some green) to be fun with it.

  I'm getting him a simple smash cake with some colors on it (straight out of the cooler at Kroger). My mom is making a strawberry cake for the adults - it's yummy!

  FWIW, by the time the cake was served, my girls were full and barely picked at it. They got a little icing on their faces, but that's it. Not the big mess I was expecting at all.

  I plan on doing the number 1 with cupcakes. It is a big hit with the family/friends and no knives or forks necessary!

  We have a theme, but DD's cake is white with pink and brown polka dots instead of going with the "princess" stuff.  What about a simple colored cake, photo cake, colored ribbons, etc?

  That's an awesome cake. 

  Apparently, I'll be making a 3-D Build-a-Bear cake.  Someone in the family got this special pan as a Christmas present and it's been unanimously decided that I will be using it to make Maddie's cake because nobody can figure out what else to do with it.  This isn't going to end well, I just know it.
