So I'm 5 weeks and I had a vaginal ultrasound today, everything looked okay, but they couldn't see much except that I'm pregnant and it's in the uterus. But now I've been having cramping and back pain :/ no bleeding though. I also feel like I've got cold like symptoms and maybe a low fever. But the cramping is freaking me out.. I've been pretty constipated, like only gone number 2 like once (today) in the last week. Ugh! Any words of wisdom?

Also had a miscarriage last October..

  • If something feels "off" contact your OB. Do they have an after hours phone # you can call? A fever is a red flag. Unless you just feel warm because you're worried.

  • Constipation can cause cramp like feelings, and some cramping can be normal early on. Have you had any bleeding? If you do, or if the cramping gets really bad, I'd call your doctor.

  • I think you should call your doctor if you are worried. Cramping can be normal with no bleeding. I had back pain and cramps. But if you have a real fever, you should go see someone.

  • Hmm so I still feel hot but my roommate says she doesn't think I have a fever, I'm just stressing. In any case I think I may have a uti, plus the constipation, so my boyfriend is taking me to urgent care in the morning
  • Good. Better safe than sorry. Keep us updated.

  • Im almost 7 weeks and have been cramping a lot lately as well. No bleeding, so I'm trying not to stress. I'm glad someone else knows what I'm going through and can relate to the worry :( hope everything is okay!
  • I also wanted to mention when you're pregnant,  your temperatures are higher than normal due to the elevated progesterone levels and increased metabolism. If you do have temps over 100 then you may want to contact your doctor. The cramping could be round ligament pain. Good luck at the doctor today, hope all is well.

  • It's always a good idea to get checked for a uti if you think you might have one just in case. It can be really detrimental in the beginning of a pregnancy and pregnant women are more prone to get them. I had an appt with my doctor yesterday and got checked out because I was getting some cramps after peeing. Turns out they were negative and its just from holding it too long. But its better to know Lol
  • Hi all! They gave me an antibiotic so hopefully that will help clear things up! I'm exhausted and feeling icky but trying to push through!
  • Stay hydrated @emmabean13 and take a good probiotic / eat yogurt to prevent digestive issues with the antibiotics.
