    146.0/ 140. We moved our scale this week so no idea if this is accurate or not but I'll take it!

    What's motivating you?
    I'm tired of feeling fat and sucking in my stomach. All of my weight goes to my tummy so I always look pregnant.

    Weekly fitness and eating goals?
    Kickboxing two times this week, a hot yoga class and a run or two.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?
    Nothing major. Girl on my team is having a baby and her shower is today, so there will be pizza and cake. But as long as the rest of the week is ok, I shouldn't get too far off track

    Drink lots of water and try to walk as much as possible.

    What's motivating you?
    My brother in law's wedding is in two weeks, and DH's best friend's is a month after that. Considering I'll be in about a million photos, I'd like to look hot!

    I'd like to get to the gym four times and walk every day. 

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?
    The fair is in town, so I will be indulging in all of the deliciousness. I also lost my fitness tracker to my friend's dog. Waiting for the new one to come. I'm addicted to that thing!

    Well I don't have a receipt ;) but I grilled some zucchini from our garden last week with garlic and lemon and it was amazing!

    Something random- what are you most looking forward to for Fall 
    Oh man, all things apples. The leaves. The crisp air. Boots and flannel. I live in Vermont and it's the best in the fall!

    What's motivating you?: Having my clothes fit better, and knowing I'm getting back into a fitness routine...and the half marathon in October my boss paid for me and my co-workers to do!


    Weekly fitness and eating goals? Get at least 3 more runs in this week, a couple more yoga sessions and a weight training/core training session.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week? It's an event week for me - we have a race on Friday, and our largest most complicated event is in 2 weeks. So longer hours for me - when work gets like this I find it easy to skip workouts and just get bad for you take out instead of cooking. But we got some great veggies in our CSA box from the farmers market Saturday and I already shopped for the week and made up a simple meal plan. - hopefully I stick to it!

    Weight loss tips / healthy receipt to share. Along with the weight and eating I've been trying to cut back on caffiene and found this to be a decent warm morning substitute - 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk, 1/2 cup water heated and mixed with a tablespoon of pure raw cocoa powder - still a bit bitter and not super sweet like hot coca.


    Something random- what are you most looking forward to for Fall: Everything! Fall is my favorite - college football, apple picking, and bonfires on our new patio!

    What's motivating you?
    AF actually. It is CD1 and that means I have another cycle to try and loose some more weight for a pregnancy.

    Weekly fitness and eating goals?
    I am going to do cardio kickboxing today, a weightlifting class tomorrow and saturday, zumba on thursday. (Friday and Sunday off). Hopefully I will stick to that. I also want to cut out the sweets this week. I have been eating way too many.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?
    Saturday I am going to a birthday party and a housewarming party. There will be a ton of terrible food at the birthday party. The housewarming shouldn't be to bad. Its for my brother and he is allergic to wheat (not gluten but actual wheat) so there should be a ton of good food there.

    Weight loss tips / healthy receipt to share.
    Zucchini noodles! You don't need one of those fancy veggie spiral things just a julienne peeler. I use zucchini noodles for my spagehtti.

    Something random- what are you most looking forward to for Fall
    So much! I am super excited for football (even though we just lost our top WR for the season). Halloween, my husband and I go all out with costumes every year, also this is our first halloween not in an apartment so we get to hand out candy to all the little ones! Most of all I am excited for deer hunting! I cannot wait to fill my freezer with venison.

    Hi Ladies! Hope it's ok if I jump into this!

    Today's weight/ goal weight
    Not sure didn't weigh myself this AM as I usually don't .I go by how my clothes fit and my energy level. My goal weight is 160 which is where I was about 4 years ago before I moved in with DH. That was the best I ever felt.

    What's motivating you?
    Getting healthy for pregnancy and avoiding the health problems several of my family members have (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc).

    Weekly fitness and eating goals?
    Go to lunch time yoga class today and Thursday as well as use my elliptical and weights at home 4x this week. I've been slacking on using the elliptical I begged DH to get for me so I really need to get down to the basement and get on that thing! In terms of eating I'm trying to stay away from most carbs and focus on getting more veggies/fruits. Also no alcohol on weeknights (except I failed at this last night and had some wine!)

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?
    Thankfully none really. Last week was a mess I was running around trying to get ready to go back to school in a few weeks and we had a birthday party on Sat that had ZERO healthy options. We have no plans really this week/weekend yet so hoping to stay home this weekend and work on home renovation projects and make some healthy meals at home.

    m6agua on the Zoodles! I actually made them last night with a roasted red pepper alfredo sauce. The sauce is just 2 roasted red peppers, 1 red onion sauteed, a few cloves or garlic, veggie broth and a small thing of herbed goat cheese. Sautee the onions and garlic in a small pan and then add the goat cheese and some veggie broth and bring to a slow boil. In the meantime roast the red peppers in the oven on 450 for about 20-30 mins. Then add peppers and goat cheese/onions/garlic mixture into a food processor and process untill smooth. Add more veggie broth if needed to thin. I prep zoodles on Sundays and use them all week. I just have the vegetti you can buy at the drugstore for under $20. Then I sautee the zoodles for 5-6 mins and mix with the sauce. So good!

    Something random- what are you most looking forward to for Fall?
    Fall is my favorite season as I'm in New England and it's a beautiful time of year. I love everything about Fall but I'm most excited to decorate our new house this year. I've been pinning DIY decorations like crazy and can't wait to make our house look cute!

    Yeah, it's a bummer but we have so many WR and I think Davante Adams can step up this year. Also it doesn't hurt having Aaron Rodgers he can make just about any WR better.

    No alcohol and plenty of water this week!  I'm promising myself I'll make it to the gym at least 3 days.

    I'm just so emotionally and physically exhausted this week that I'm a big ball of "I don't wanna" so I need to really give myself a push

    I've been using my handy little portion containers I bought from Amazon and while my weight is up this week, I think it's pill/cycle related.  My calorie count has been in the 1200/day range and bringing in proportioned food definitely helps with that.


    Something random- what are you most looking forward to for Fall

    TV!!  I know I know, I'm lame, but I miss my shows.  We're getting our new house ready for occupation so I'm excited to have my Doctor Who/Sleepy Hollow/Supernatural/Bones all back to entertain me while I'm working on it.

    What's motivating you? Like I said before, I had lost 115 pounds and want to get back to 120 before I continue gaining. I've been waffling between 123 and higher for a while now, and this is how I gained all my weight to begin with.


    Weekly fitness and eating goals?: 1200 calories per day as often as I can manage it, and I'm kind of sucking at it.


    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?: My insomnia is horrendous and it is messing with absolutely everything in my life.

    What's motivating you? I want to be healthier and be in the best shape possible before (hopefully) getting pregnant. I had bad issues with SPD last time and I hope weighing less + being more fit will help.

    Weekly fitness and eating goals? Restarting my 12 week strength training program today. Wasn't thrilled with my results from the last 12 weeks, but I like the routine.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week? The only possibility is a birthday party for a friend's kid on Sunday. I'll eat before and avoid the snack food entirely.

    Today's weight/ goal weight

    I'm only up 1lb from last week which is SHOCKING considering my weekend intake of: Steakhouse dinner (full on mac/cheese, Porterhouse, spinach, the works) Friday, lobster mac & cheese Saturday, fried chicken on Saturday night, tons of beer, wine, champagne, and taco dip, peach cake, and carbonara at a Sunday night party.  Granted, I kept the portions pretty small on all of the above (except the wine & champagne) but I know that was ridiculous behavior.  We just moved and we are surrounded by so much good food!  Haha.  

    What's motivating you?

    Getting more fit/strong, looking better. 

    Weekly fitness and eating goals?

    I'd like to cook at home more and increase the veggies/whole grains and stop splurging on unhealthy foods just because I can.   

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?

    Not really, just laziness.  Working from home this week so it's easy to get sedentary.  Also, I made an upside-down peach cake for a party Sunday and it was so good I'm going to make another tonight.  I don't like a lot of sweets and I hate nearly all cake so to find one I like is a nice treat.

    Yes!  I just discovered Edemame Spaghetti.  It's actually made out of edemame.  We got it at Costco but they have it on Amazon as well.  It's apparently quite nutritious (higher in protein and lower in carbs than regular spaghetti, gluten-free although I don't care about that but any Celiacs out there ought to check it out).  I love pasta and will never give it up and am honestly not interested in any substitutes (like Zoodles - sorry, it's not pasta, it's a vegetable shaped like pasta, let's drop the charade!) but despite a little chewy-ness, it's quite delicious. 

    Yesterday I made it with burst cherry tomatoes and a sauce I of soy sauce, red chilis, rice vinegar, dijon mustard, sesame oil, and a clove of cracked garlic.

    This pasta could be served with any type of sauce - marinara, lemon juice/olive oil/parm, pesto, etc.    

    Something random- what are you most looking forward to for Fall

    Our honeymoon to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora!  We booked it after watching an episode of Real Housewives of the OC (OK, I watched it, H endured it) but we saw those islands and were all, "Uh, that is beautiful.  Let's go there".  Haha, thanks RHOC!
  • onefootinthebayou, be careful with too much soy/edemame while TTGP! I am sure you are not eating heaps of it, but just thought I would call it out. Its really the only thing I have cut completely from my diet once we started trying to have a baby. It sounds pretty good though.

    What's motivating you?
    I got sick this week and dropped a few pounds, and I think that really jump started the motivation for me.

    Weekly fitness and eating goals?
    . Some type of activity every day.  Yesterday I did a short weight training session and biking during lunch.  Today is our weekly fitness class at work.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?
    .Planning to go out with a friend while my husband is away on business this week.  I am picking the place, so healthy restaurant tips would be a life saver!

    I am slowly transitioning from Diet Pepsi as my main source of fluid to water.  I hate regular water so I have started trying some of the flavored seltzer and they seem to be taking the edge off my cravings.

    I just enjoy being outside without suffocating from the heat.

    Drinking at least 70 oz of water a day, walking before/after work, and prepping food to keep from eating out.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week?
    Just motivation...Sleep has not been my friend.

    Weight loss tips / healthy receipt to share.
    Crawl, walk, run...Don't overdo it. And something that I like to make is Sweet and Spicy Chicken:
    Dice up boneless, skinless chicken breast (1/person or at least 3 if only serving 2 ppl)
    Cook the chicken in the skillet and then turn to a simmer.
    Coat with taco seasoning (add small amount of water if needed)
    Add a jar of chunky salsa (I use Mild)
    Add a couple of spoonfuls of peach preserves to slightly sweeten
    Serve over rice.

  • Grabbed this from https://theadventurouswriter.com/blogbaby/foods-to-avoid-when-you-want-to-get-pregnant-soy-to-salami/ but I have read about this in several articles. Who knows if it really does affect fertility, but I am happy to swap out soy milk for almond milk for a while!

    Soybeans and soy foods. The plant form of estrogen (phytoestrogens) in soybeans won’t help when you’re trying to get pregnant – and it’s especially important to avoid high soy consumption if you’re coping with infertility. “For those trying to conceive, the excess estrogen activity is enough to induce a hormone imbalance that may affect egg production and ovulation,” write the authors of Getting Pregnant.

    Decrease your soy intake six months before you start trying to get pregnant, and remember that soy is “hidden” in foods such as tempeh, oils, flour, milk, and texturized vegetable protein (TVP).

    Yes, thank you for bringing that to my attn, @yogahh.  I had never heard that.  I did just look up "Getting Pregnant" & one of the authors is an MD/PhD so this certainly appears to be science-based at first glance.  I'll have to take a look at the data.  That said, I also believe in "everything in moderation" so I definitely don't intend to overload on the soy products in general (esp. soy sauce, which is really high in sodium"). 

    TBH, my weekend of terrible foods is probably more harmful to my body than the edemame spaghetti but I'm working on reigning that in, partially by being held accountable here every week ;)

    Baking!!!! (you can still bake in the summer but for some reason I do a lot more in the fall/winter. Also, I'm looking forward to Halloween...I love decorating the house and handing out candy to kids! (I also eat like half of it too :( lol)

    175/ 165 (?) I'd probably have to be playing 2 sports as a college student again to meet it, but it's a good goal I guess. My goals are more health oriented than weight oriented.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week? My lingering plantar fasciitis. Was planning on a run today but my foot still hurts a little so I know I shouldn't. I'll do some yoga after work so it's something, but doesn't burn nearly as many calories

    Today's weight/ goal weight: 150.6/130 (down 3.8lbs over all, 0.2lbs from last week)

    What's motivating you? -I want to be healthy and feel more confident

    Weekly fitness and eating goals? -Walk more on breaks at work, eat more salads and less liquid calories. I walked a ton this past weekend & I hope to do the same next weekend.

    Any roadblocks to prepare for this week? - my sister's birthday party this weekend = cake, also I'm a bit lazy.

    Something random- what are you most looking forward to for Fall -pumpkin patch with my nephews! Love that tradition <3 Also last year we had 125+ trick-or-treaters. I got into Halloween decorating last year and I hope to at least have as much fun as last year.

    Have you had the edamame spaghetti? I don't know why but I love it. It's a little chewy but it totally satisfies my cravings for pasta. I'm going to read up on the soy while TTC thing & may swap it out for soba for the time being but it is really worth trying if you're not worried about soy in your diet. More protein than carbs & loaded w/fiber.
