Has anyone suddenly gotten a Scared that the baby is not moving/ or there anymore.? At work I got a sudden rush of worry because I felt my belly was light and not hard? Panicked and tried to move it to see if the baby would kick back for disturbing it?! lol after a couple of deep breaths I reassured myself that the baby was ok. Anyone else here has had a similar scare?

  • Sudden scare

  • I already have anxiety so I always try to keep myself from doing things like this because it affects me traumatically so I just take my midwifes word if there is no cramping with bleeding you and baby are fine. When I want him to move I just drink juice or ice cold water he will start moving really soon once I drink one of them. But he moves a lot on his own so I guess he lets his presence be known before I can get to that point of worrying.
  • Be calm. It's normal around this time to feel normal. You may not feel baby at all until after 20 weeks and if you have been feeling baby, you will most likely go days without feeling anything. I felt this way a couple weeks ago and posted about it in the symptoms thread.
  • It's normal to worry and freak out a little. I always get anxiety right before my Dr listens to the heartbeat like it suddenly won't be there even though I've been feeling the baby all day. As you get further along, the constant movements will help ease your anxiety. It's hard at this gestation because movement is so few and far between and you go so long between Dr appts. Buy a heart Doppler to use at home, I think mine was under $20 from Amazon. That was a nice thing for me to do and relax with in the evenings with my DS.

  • I did the same once I hit 14 weeks. Due to the placement of my placenta, I haven't felt movements and I'm now 18 weeks. Just saw a perfect baby during our ultrasound yesterday so I'm forcing myself to not worry. But I know exactly how you feel. Keep thinking positive, mama!

  • At 21 weeks, other than baby movement and weight gain, I still don't have symptoms. Sometimes my tummy feels softer, lots of times (like most of the time I don't feel pregnant), the baby goes long periods where I don't feel movement. I think it's all normal. Maybe just ask your doctor how long at this point in pregnancy would they want you to call if you don't feel movement.
