seperation anxiety question..Help!

Dd started daycare dec. 1 st when she was 4 1/2 months. She wouldn't even look at me when I left. I am a teacher and had her home with me for 12 days during my christmas break. I took her back for the 1st time again on monday and now everyday this week she has cried when I left. It rips my heart out. Will it get better? I know also she's teething like crazy but I feel so bad. I gave her a blanket today which I slep on last night. I hope it soothed her

  • It will get better.  My son has been going to daycare since he was 7 weeks old and he is 3 now.  I still have days where he cries when I leave and it kills me, but I know he is fine and having fun with his friends minutes after I leave.  More times than not, he is pushing me out the door because he wants to get to playing and I keep hugging and kissing him goodbye!

  • I'm TOTALLY going through this this week too!  DH and I were home for two weeks over Xmas and New Years.  Now dropping DS off to my cousin who is new at babysitting for him...it was the first time, it's SO HARD!!  He cries and points to me as soon as I give him to her!  It's sooo sad!!  I feel guilty, but I know he'll get use to it and LOVE spending time with her kids.  If I stay home he won't have that....so I'm trying to look at the positives and not think too much about him being upset??  It's hard though!
  • I think this is very normal after a change in routine, especially one that involves more time with mom.  It will get better!
