Babies on the Brain

How goes "The Wait" this month, ladies?

I have missed y'all the past couple of weeks! It's been crazy with preparing for back to school and wrapping things up.

The baby fever continues. This heat that Dallas is bringing us is a reminder of how hard it is to be 9 months pregnant here. So I have decided to push back TTC until my birthday in Feb.

How are you doing with the wait? Let's talk about continuous baby fever.

Re: How goes "The Wait" this month, ladies?

  • Welcome back! I am so terrible at waiting, our TTC timeframe went from the beginning of next year, to november-december timeframe, to NOW. Baby fever has completely taken over. To help with the wait I was reading TCOYF but I think that only expedited the process!

    Stay cool down there!

Good luck and have fun, friend!
  • We decided to push it up a month.  Started trying this month instead of September.  I hope things start to cool down soon.  I think we are getting a cool front this week in south louisiana.  I think this is a joke.  I'm ready for some cooler temps though.

  • My baby fever is getting even worse but I'm also debating waiting until February so we can enjoy the most of college football season with our season tickets. Yes, priorities!

Haha so glad you didn't judge me @HookEmNelson! DH works as a project manager for a general contractor and won a job at our alma mater so we're moving back to State College, PA and I'd love to be able to enjoy our first football season back.

  • @LavenderBrown1018 love that football is a factor for you guys lol! It probably would be for us too!

@HookEmNelson yes yes all the gifs!! Thanks for setting up this thread for everybody to check in, great idea!

My wait is going much better this month than it was in July! I'm finally off my HBC and have begun charting so I am super interested to see how that turns out after my first cycle and I'm praying it shows that I ovulate and that there are no issues! We are hoping to buy a house this fall and I know DH would be happiest having that before becoming PG and I obviously want us both to be very excited when we do TTC :)
  • For the first time in a while, the fever has died down a bit. But that's probably only because DH and I are finally deciding to make our dream trip to Europe a reality this December. So I have been in crazy planning mode for the past week. It's a good distraction. It gives me something to focus on when I am not working my 60 hour week and it should distract me for the next 4 months. I do expect full on baby fever to come back with a vengeance though right after we get back from our trip.
  • @AshPat0525 You are the best! So positive!
Your journey sounds so familiar. We waited to start really thinking about TTC after we bought our house, and now it's when we both are on board and ready to take the leap again. Come on February!

@bmo88 Have fun in Europe! That is definitely a trip to plan for and keep your mind on other things, hah!
  • The fever seems to be continuously intensifying! DH has it just as bad as I do which doesn't help the wait at all. Would love to wait until the beginning of the year but we will see how the next few months go. Mirena comes out on the 20th and I'm exciting to start temping and charting. Maybe that will keep me preoccupied for awhile. Fingers crossed anyways. Good luck with the wait ladies! :)
  • Baby fever seems to have just finally kicked in for me! I'd be tempted to move up our timeline, but we booked our trip to the Netherlands for March and I need to wait until I'd be first or second tri. Plenty to keep me busy until then, but still can't wait to get started!
  • It has slowed down for me a little bit as well. I'm a teacher so I think since I am preparing to go back and I am in the crazy set up mode of my classroom, I don't have a lot of time to think about it. I also switched schools and grade levels so that is stressing me out. DH and I agreed on a timeline of when we can start TTC next year so I think that has helped as well! I wish we were planning a cool trip to Europe or the Netherlands though! :)
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • We're going to start trying next month and I keep wanting to just throw in the towel and start trying this month but next month really is better for me, in terms of my career.  I'm just starting a research project and taking 3 months off for maternity leave is going to make things really difficult.  I think it will be easier if I don't have to leave until June or later, so that I can get some data prior to taking time off, and hopefully have things running well enough that someone might be able to take over in my absence.  But when I get really sick of work, staying home for a few months seems wonderful, even if it is terrifying and I'm sleep deprived.  And also, of course, DH and I are both just really excited to have a little one.
  • Mine is as strong as ever. Went to visit our parents this weekend, and I felt like they were all eyeing my eating, drinking, sleeping, everything habits for clues of possible pregnancy. :(  DH and I already can't wait as it is... it doesn't help that there is pressure from BOTH sets of parents to produce the first grandchild.

  • I thought I only had 2 cycles left because I have 2 months left but after learning more about my cycle through temp/charting... I have 3 cycles left because I have 2 "O" days in November. So I am happy to know that we can try during our anniversary but sad to know we have to wait til Nov 19th
  • @KatM89 Oh my gosh, that's like the blue moon of cycles! Everything happens for a reason is my mantra. I'm totally with you though, just fast forward me to when we can start trying!!
  • Hi, I am new!

I am having a bit of a struggle this TWW.  I am experience light spotting that hasn't gotten heavier since this Saturday. AF isn't due until Thursday.  I am also having really wild, vivid dreams that wake me up! I usually sleep like a rock through the night.  Not sure if that matters. Don't have sore BBs, nausea.  I've always had a really strong sense of smell. Not sure if I should test.  I'm on my 4th round of Clomid.  Not sure if I should call the doctor to go to next round of fertility treatments.  :(
  • @LavenderBrown1018 I agree everything happens for a reason, as long as I can celebrate beginning to try by our anniversary then I am happy. I am ready now lol but I know my DH will be much more excited if we wait til then. So, it is worth it to me.

This is our first month off BC.  We're not actively trying, but not preventing either.  I don't have the fever, but I'm doing a lot of research and getting excited about the whole thing.   I am drinking (within moderation) plenty of wine and margaritas while I still have the chance.
  • personally just counting the days until september 1 for my iud to come out.
not going to be trying really hard in september although i am going to begin temping.

i can't wait to start temping though :)

Husband caught the baby fever! We're now moving it up to October to start TTC...so my waiting has gotten better!

We're hoping for a summer baby (keyword being 'hoping' as we know how science works :p ). Yay! If it doesn't happen in oct/Nov then we'll just carry on ntnp!
  • Y'all. My husband threw out the month of December to start trying (remember we did have talks about starting to TTC in Feb). This heat and having a potential Sept. baby..so hot. I've done it once, and could do it again, but I melt outside.

It's looking like December for us too! I figure I'll be miserable in the heat whether or not I'm pregnant (though a lot of you are from hotter parts of the country than me!)
  • @HookEmNelson I'm practically starting ttc in December because I won't ovulate til nearly November 20th. I am driving myself crazy waiting to start. I have a 1/2 marathon scheduled for Halloween and I keep telling myself once I am done with my 12 week training schedule I can ttc... even thought I wont ovulate for 3 weeks after that.. I've guessed that I will ovulate around halloween and after that ovulation we can begin to try. If I ttc for that ovulation I would be due the day of my Husband's ironman. I'm scared that I'll go into labor while hes on the race course( and it takes 14 to 17 hrs) and he would miss the birth. Obviously he would skip the race for me but it's our first and you sometimes go early. So we decided to wait a week later and do the second ovulation in November. I am having such a hard time focusing on the upcoming race and get into my training. Tonight I have a 2 mile run which is easy. So, I am excited about that. Last night J and I went for a 3 mile run in the pouring rain. I hate running through a downpour( bec the drops hit my eyes).
  • @HookEmNelson ahh :D Yessss I'm all about moving up the dates :)) my DH wants to wait until next fall and I know I will be in at least one wedding if not two the following summer so I'm like mmmm this fall is better ;) lol!
  • @Katm89 Not many babies are born on their actual due date (my sister was though). Ironman is a huge deal, congrats to your hubby for signing up! I'm impressed! Our two friends do them... they're crazy fit!
  • @LavenderBrown1018 yea I know the chances for being on the due date are low but can come early. And, I would hate to stand out in the heat for 15 hours at 9 months pregnant lol
  • Just popped in to say the days this month are dragggggging....
