2ww IUI with donor sperm

happy Monday! I just had my 3rd iui but first with an actual fertility dr. My husband has azo sperm but after all test I seem to ovulate fine. We have had to use donor sperm. My first two were with my regular Obgyn and he basically had me count 12 days from my period, scheduled the donor sperm to arrive on a certain day and did the iui. This process I am not on any meds but went to the fertility dr. Several times for u/s to check my follicles. On August 19th I got a positive opk and had the iui on the 20th. She even checked the donor sperm after it thawed to make sure they were alive, yay they were. I am day 5 now and have been cramping all night. Can't stop symptom watching.

Re: 2ww IUI with donor sperm

  • Good luck!  Of course, it's too early for there to be any symptoms, but it's normal to drive yourself crazy looking for them.

It's good that you're with a fertility doc.  It's more expensive (sheesh) but they have a lot more expertise in timing the IUI.  They also have the facilities to keep the sperm frozen, so you don't have to rely on the shipping times for the sperm.

Are you also charting your temperature?  That helped me see that my first IUI was a day late (after ovulation).
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
