has anyone experienced being impacted and what did you do to help?! I'm on a strict low fat diet which is high in fiber but I'm in zofran which I know causes constipation I take colace twice a day and drink lots of water and apple juice and today I was trying to go to the bathroom and couldn't pass stool at all and I thought maybe it was a hemroid at first but when I felt up there it was a hard stool which I tried to break up but it didn't help the rest pass.. It is one of the grossest and most uncomfortable things I have ever done and do not want to keep doing it does anyone have other suggestions to soften up the stool to help it pass ? I'm 26 weeks along and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Re: Impactation/constipation
Also, position to eliminate stool is a big deal. Get a step-foot-stool & put your legs up so you are in a squatting position. This creates a straight line for the waste to exit.
Finally-- Vaseline. Get gloves (CVS or walgreens) and lubricate your anus to avoid tears, fissures or hemmroids. You can gently use a lubricated finger to help the harder stool pass.
Coconut milk (not water) is a natural stool stimulant. You can have some in the morning (with your coffee which can also help you poop) and by lunch/dinner you should have a successful event.
Good luck!
