Amelia Grace came into the world at 2:35 today! Started pic at 8:40 this morning, got my epi at about 1, and by 2 I was ready to push! So in love with this baby girl.
Lana Rae born 8/19 at 304 am weighing 6lbs and 3oz and 19 inches long. She's a tiny little nugget who can barely fit in newborn clothes even though she was only one week early. Labor was pretty tough and long and epidural stopped working during labor but it was all worth it when they placed her right on my chest. We're dealing with some other health issues now that I posted separately and would love all positive vibes and prayers. It's crazy how much love and mommy bear instincts you develop in such a short time.
He was born via planned cesarean but had a tough time transitioning from breathing liquid to breathing air. He was in NICU until about 2:30 PM yesterday. He is doing great now, though he isn't nursing as much as I'd like him to. The nurses and the LC are not at all worried but I am just an anxious momma!
Samantha Leigh was born on Monday 8/17/15 via planned c-section. She was 8.1lbs and 19inches long at birth. Her chubby cheeks are making the whole family say awwww she developed jaundice so she's now receiving phototherapy and is under the lights with her little sunglasses on.
My time has finally come! Baby Suri was born at 12:21am on 8/20 absolutely perfect! She weighed 7lbs. 7 oz.I was induced a day early because of my BP. Labor was 14 hours which was longer than my first. It was THE toughest labor ever. Not gonna lie! Not only did my epidural ONLY work on my legs with pure pitocin contractions and my water being broken by my doctor....
I also had some hemorrhaging after birth and getting the placenta removed hurt like hell. But, I'm happy to say I had ZERO tearing, and I'm already up and walking around. She latched on great and we couldn't be happier. She is the splitting image of her big brother and I cannot wait for her to meet him
GL to all of you still waiting. It's worth the wait!
Chandler Lenore Brinkman born 8/19 at 8:19am. 8lbs 5 oz and 19 3/4 inches long. We are both so in love with her already. First time parents and we can't stop staring at her and kissing her.
Ok, been out of the hospital for 8 days so its time to post pics of little Leyla. Here are a few from the hospital and mainly home. I had posted my birth story last week but for some reason I cant post pics from my phone.... Sorry for the baby pic spam!
Annalise Kaye arrived this morning at 4:56am, 6 days early, after roughly 6 hours of labor. Contractions quickly went from 5 minutes apart to 3 minutes, and we made it to the hospital an hour before she was born. Four pushes and she was out, with only a tiny labia tear that I barely notice. I also accomplished my goal of a non-medicated birth, and can't believe how smoothly everything went. She's a champion sleeper and took to breastfeeding pretty quickly. We're in such shock that we have a little girl and couldn't be happier!
Our sweet boy, Baby Will Joseph, joined us on 8/18 at 39w1d. He weighed 6lbs.7oz and 20". My water broke at 10pm Monday and went to L&D. Was completely closed but contractions every 2-6 mins. IV fluids for a few hours to try to slow down contractions but no luck. Started pitocin at 5 a.m. to help make contractions more efficient. Took 12 hours to get dilated after that. Epidural helped briefly then left quickly, not numbing much! 2-1/2 hrs of pushing and he made it! He's perfect:-)

Baby Will born 8/18. He's perfect.
I woke up at 4am on 8/19 (40weeks 5 days) from a dream about having contractions and, in fact, was having some! I tried to rest some more but it was impossible, so I started bouncing on the ball and using a breast pump to get them closer together. Finally, around 1pm we headed to the hospital with cx 2-3 minutes apart lasting a minute each. Naturally, we get to triage and they had spaced out to 6-7 min and I was only dilated to a 4. My midwife and doula agreed that it would be best to go home and try to rest or at least labor more in the comfort of my own home. They assured me, however, that I WOULD be having a baby in the next 24 hours. At home, I was able to doze off for about 10 minutes at a time between contractions from 6-8pm, and after that did as my midwife told me and just laid around resting as much as possible without trying anything that might wear me out like walking or bouncing on the ball. She knew I'd need my strength! By 1:15 am I told DH that we had to go because even though they were still 6 minutes apart, they felt different and more productive. We were immediately put in a delivery room and when checked I was dilated to an 8. I labored in every position but ultimately sat at the edge of the bed with my legs on a squat bar to push her out- I'd imagined squatting would be easier but my legs just couldn't hold me up at that point. My doula and midwife coached me beautifully through my med-free birth and, after 15 minutes of pushing, Ainsley was born at 4:25am after 24 hours of labor! Our little girl weighed in at 8lbs 6oz and 21 inches long. She has been breastfeeding like a champ and sleeping well in between feedings. I, however, still have not slept but DH is snoozing away next to me because he's *so* tired even after having a nap last night AND this morning after A was born. Men.
Finley Coy is here! Born 8/20 at 6:41a.m. He is 6lbs 2oz. and 19" We were sent to the hospital with high BP after my 39 week appointment. They decided to induce! I did 12 hours of Cervadil, was still only 1cm after that and so I did 4 hours of another medication. I don't remember what the name of that one was. That got me to 3cm dilated so they started the Pitocin(aka Satan!!!) progressed to 4cm about an hour after that and then my water broke! Unfortunately, baby Finn didn't handle the contractions well after that so the doctor decided we needed a c-section to keep him safe. Everything went fine and now momma and baby are recovering and we should be able to go home on Saturday. Here's some pictures of my little squishy!
So proud to introduce Henry Marshall to the world. He arrived Monday night at 7:39pm after induction starting at 9:30am that morning. We were at 38w3d but the little guy was measuring small and doctor decided it was time to get him out. Didn't need much of any pitocin before my body started doing what it needed to do! Membrane rupture at 1:30, epidural at about 4 and fully dilated and effaced by about 5. Pushed for two hours, and with episiotomy, vacuum assistance and 4th degree tear our little miracle entered the world with a cry and open eyes! Scariest thing I've ever gone through in my life but I would do it all over again for this amazing little man! 5lbs 6ounces and 17.5" long. Can't believe how such a tiny guy was able to do so much damage but hey, he made it! We are home after a quick light treatment for mild jaundice. And mommy is healing like a champ! Thank GOD for a doctor with superman skills with a suture kit lol.
Introducing Miss Olivia Eleonore Anne, born 19 August at 8:54am at 3.3kg. Labor was intense and quick which left no time for drugs! Totally smitten with this little bundle!
We were team green and now we're team PINK! Our little miss Elena Corinne arrived on Aug 18 @ 7:11am after 27 hours of labour and 3 hours of pushing. She was 8 lbs exactly and 20.5 inches long. Contractions started at 2:30am on Aug 17, water broke at 5:15am. Long labour resulted in forceps and 3rd degree tearing to get her out but so worth it! We came home yesterday and are just getting used to new normal. So very in love.
So pleased to introduce Miss Genevieve McLaughlin Levitan - born August 8 @ 9:49 am. Starting having contractions around 10 pm. Labored at home until 5 am then told my honey it was time to go. We gathered ourselves, called our parents and made it to the hospital at 6 am. 3 pushes and we got to meet our princess. Absolutely head over heels, I can't believe she is ours. And the BEST baby! Truly blessed. Cannot attach photo but she is gorgeous!
Zoey Elizabeth was born August 20th weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces 22 inches long at exactly 42 weeks. I'm so in love with this sweet girl. Over 48 hours of hard labor only got an epidural in the last few hours and sweet Jesus that was a relief. Ended with a vacuum because I was so exhausted and she was sunny side up. Will update with pictures soon!
Our beautiful daughter came after 30 hours of labor. Due 8/14 came 8/20 though induction. 7lb 11oz 21" The excruciating pain from labor is almost a distant memory already. I used nitrous oxide but, ended up with an epidural. DH and I are overjoyed.
Our little bundle showed up after 18 hours of labor, exactly on his due date! Zeyad Elteir, 8/20/15 at 12:47 pm weighting in at 8 pounds 5 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long! He's been so precious and were so grateful!
Sophia Elizabeth was born August 19 at 2:28 AM after a 2-day induction. At my regular 40 week checkup on Monday, the midwife bluntly told us, OK you guys are going to the hospital to have a baby! My fluids were too low. When I got there they started me on cervadil, which softened my cervix but only dilated me to a 2. I lost my mucus plug and was then started on a very slow drip pitocin. Around 3 on Tuesday, my contractions became much stronger, and by 9 I was dilated to a 4-5 and got an epidural. I was told that I still most likely wouldn't have my baby until much later the next day. However around midnight I woke up with horrible contractions and was dilated to a 9. They called my fiancé and told me it was time to push. At 2:28 AM after a big episiotomy, my 6 lb 12 oz 19.5 in bundle of joy was born.
Zayd Owen born August 20th @ 1:05pm. 7 lb 11.8oz. C section was scheduled at 10:30am. Was delayed a couple times and the whole time I was contracting 2-3 minutes apart. My husband joked that if they didn't get to us then the baby was going to arrive on its own.
Imogen Rose was born at 40 weeks, 3 days on August 17th at 2:48pm. She weighed 7lbs, 10.4 oz and was 20.5 inches long at birth.
I began labor on August 16 in the AM and labored for about 36 hours and pushed for two hours medication free (like I wanted). It was tough but totally doable with the right mindset and support team. After two hours of what my doctor deemed unproductive pushing (baby was almost ready to begin the crowning process and was slowly progressing to station 3), I was pretty much badgered into having an emergency c-section due to the arbitrary time limit and fears that she wouldnt fit (baby was happy as a clam and not in distress). I agreed because I was extremely exhausted and felt like the doctor would not support me if I chose to weather on. The worst part of my entire laboring process was not allowing my body to do what it wanted (push) while they gave me the spinal shot for the surgery. C-section recovery has been absolutely awful and I'm definitely going to attempt a VBAC next time.
But, we are over the moon for our little one, and slowly adjusting to being a family of three at home!
Olivia Mae arrived 08.16.2015 at 3pm after 14.5 hours of labor. Water broke at 12:22am, went in to L&D and was still 1/2 cm (since 35 weeks at least. I was 39.5 wks by this point) and contracting every minute but no progress for 12 hours., when the OB finally determined I couldn't dilate due to scar tissue from my LEEP. After 6 hours of pitocin, I Decided to get an epidural so they could try to break up the scar tissue . When they checked me, I was finally at a 5! 45 mins later, I was ready to push. 15 mins of pushing, and we had an 8lb .08oz 20inch long baby girl
Vivianne Florence Marie was born August 20th @ 5:54am - 8 lbs 6 ounces. My water broke at midnight and we headed into the hospital but baby had turned breech! Scheduled c section for a few hours later - she's perfect in every way.
Charlotte Hope was born August 20th at 2:20pm . Induced with cervidil at 38.4 weeks due to high blood pressure . Got the cervidil at 3:30pm started contracting immediately! After 8 hours I only progressed to 3cm. Given potocin and same thing .. After a few hours no progression . Got my epi around 12:45pm and they broke my water and within an hour and a half she was here with 2 pushes! Had 2nd degree tears but nothing to bad! Already home with our girl and DS is in LOVE
Charles Isaac Born at 11:30 pm 8/20 after 4.5 hrs of labor. 8 lbs 10 oz 21"
During my checkup Thursday at 40+5 weeks, they discovered my amniotic fluid was low and decided to induce immediately. (My induction was previously set for the night of 8/23)
They started pitocin at 7 pm, broke water at 7:20. I asked for an epidural around 9 but it took them FOREVER to get there and by the time it was in it was time to push. It never really had time to take full effect. Ouch. Pushed for 15 mins and our little guy got here around 11:30. Fast and furious labor and delivery.
Every one is doing well. Charlie is breastfeeding already and we couldn't be happier.
So excited to announce my beautiful baby girl has made her grand entrance into the world! Allyn Lucille was born 8/19 at 6:46pm after a short 4 hours of labor. She's 6lbs2oz and 18inches of perfection!
Our sweet boy made his appearance 8/20 at 39 weeks. I was induced due to GD. Dr broke my water at 7:30am, started pit 8am. The nurse checked me at 10:10am because my dr wanted and update and i was 6cm, 100% and 0 station. Requested the epi, but at 10:15 I realized I had to push! I went from 6-10 in 5 minutes and Owen James was born at 10:21am.... Fast and furious! He's so sweet and nursing/latching like a champ! He's been under the bili lights for 24 hours now and we are praying his levels are down this morning so we can all go home today! I'll post a pic in a little while.
Oliver John was born August 21 at 1:10pm via scheduled c section due to a breech presentation. 8lbs 10oz and 21 inches long. The c section was a little frightening but all worth it for my baby boy. Recovery hasn't been bad and we hope to go home Monday.
Cherry Lily Pabey was born via emergency c-section at 8:55pm August 21. Went in for cytotec to try to get my cervix to dilate, after only one round the baby's heart rate wouldn't stay stable. Found out later she pooped in the womb too. Wasn't dilating at all, and my doctor decided she needed to come out. I was really freaked out and cried due to my nerves. But the c section went well and baby is doing well. I'm sore but doing okay. Was in a lot of pain for a few hours after the surgery. Have had one successful nursing session so far. It is super adorable to watch her daddy hold her and talk to her. We are glad to finally have our baby girl.
Vivian Rose was born August 21 at 8:24pm via CS after turning breech. She was 8 pounds 5 ounces and healthy as can be! Her blood sugar has stayed stable and so she's been able to stay with momma the whole time. Everyone in the OR helped to make skin to skin possible during the remainder of my surgery. It was amazing and she even latched and started nursing while I was being stitched up. So far she's nursing really well and overall a very mellow sweet angel.
Reid Daniel was born August 21 at 1:16pm. Weighing in at 9lbs even and 21.5" long- and I'm in LOVE!
Went into labor on the 20th at 4am, planned for a med-free birth so I labored at home and went into my birth center and got admitted at 4cm at 3pm, labored for 5 more hours and was stalling at 5cm. Midwife was worried about my energy to make it through as it had been a slow labor up to that point and recommended a transfer to the hospital. Got to the hospital around 9pm, was at 6cm and almost fully effaced. Got an epidural and was still SLOWLY dialating even after them breaking my water around 2am. Next day (21st), finally was at 9cm and fully effaced but then stalled at 9cm again! A few hours later I was finally fully dialated and ready to push. 2 hours of pushing, 3 vaccum assisted tries, and a small episiotomy- we got him out! I think it was God's plan that we were in the hospital because little guy and I both ended up with high fevers (from water being broke for so long) and he had a grunt (possible meconium inhalation). He's recovered quickly in the NICU and is really just there for precautionary measures right now. We're trying to get better with breastfeeding since the NICU nurses downed him with formula quickly so nipple shields, pumping and supplementing it is until we both get used to feeding on breast only. Our birth plan totally went out the window but I'm so happy he's here and he's soooo sweet and adorable. It also melts my heart to see his daddy love on him so much. I wouldn't have it any other way!
Madison Lyn - Born August 21st at 8:58 am! She is 7 lbs 4 oz and 19 1/4 in long! She is healthy and absolutely beautiful!!!! We are sooo in love with this little princess!
Introducing Patrick Joseph Riker, 7lbs 2oz 20"! I was woken up by my first contraction at 11:30pm on Saturday night. 20 minutes later I had my next one. 15 minutes after that I had another. Then the next one was 10, then 6... in about an hour I had contractions at 4 minutes apart and we got to the hospital at 1pm. I was already at a 5! After a few hours of the most intense front, back and.. thigh labor, I was at an 8. The dr broke my water and the contractions got so intense I went back to a 7.. I couldn't relax! I opted for the epi, but too late. It relaxed me enough to progress to a 10, but didn't work enough to ease contractions. It was time to push! 4 contractions and 10 minutes later, our son was born at 4:53! 5 and a half hours after my first contraction.. 5 days early. Not bad for a FTM! He found his way to my nipple on his own and we helped him latch. He BF'd like a champ! We are as in love with our new little addition to our family! Good luck to all the other August mommies out there
Baby Ezekiel was born 8/23. Went into L&D 5 cm dialated, 80% effaced, 0 station. Got epidural right away, then got pushing 8 hours later and baby was out in 15 mins of pushing. I'm in love.
Re: August 2015 Birth Announcements!
Born 8:45 on 8/19
He was born via planned cesarean but had a tough time transitioning from breathing liquid to breathing air. He was in NICU until about 2:30 PM yesterday. He is doing great now, though he isn't nursing as much as I'd like him to. The nurses and the LC are not at all worried but I am just an anxious momma!
DD isn't talking to me though... Silly girl
