Revealing baby's sex just to me and DH (NOT a party)

DH won't be at the AS because we are moving out of state in one week but I'm coming back here in September see my OB for my AS and to finish up some work stuff at my job here. (I wanted to wait to see my new OB in my new state until after the AS since its a big appointment with lots of info and I want to be with the OB I've been with for my last two babies.) We want to find out the sex, but I won't find out without him, so I'm having the tech put the sex in an envelope. With our older children we found out at the AS together, so this time I'm wondering: should we just open the envelope together or do something little like get 2 cupcakes filled with pink or blue or go to brunch and get pancakes with blueberries or strawberries or something like that?

My hubs and I went to our fav restaurant where we celebrate bdays and annys. We know a lot of people from going there over the last 11 years so we gave them our envelope and they surprised us with "it's a boy" during dessert time

We are just opening the envelope at home. We are both a bit of home bodies and like the intimacy of being alone together. I thought about the cupcake thing but I don't know if I could wait a few more days. We go Thursday for the anatomy scan!!

We opened the envelope in a photobooth to capture our reactions. I am so glad that we did that because now we have a special memento of first learning about our sweet girl

We had it out in an envelope. We went to lunch and opened it together. I don't care for the reveal parties or doing big stuff with it. We then went to Carters and bought a bunch of clothes.

I went to Carter's with a box and tissue paper and the envelope and waited in the bathroom while they picked out an outfit for us. When I got home I wrapped the box and we opened the box together.

We found out with our parents and siblings. Took them out for a non-fancy lunch and brought some cupcakes. Based on the negativity of some on this board to sex reveals, I thought maybe we were making too much of a big deal - but it was literally so fun- like our family is still talking about it. Not that you have to do with others - but just the both having the cupcake and then 1,2,3 bite in and look down was really, really fun - way better in the moment than I expected.
