4 month eating change

My LO just turned 4 months today and I've noticed a change in her eating pattern. 1st - she is going longer between feedings. She used to eat every 3 hours, now she will eat every 4 hours. 2nd - she only eats for about 5 - 8 minutes and she's finished and completely satisfied. Is this normal? She comes off the breast smiling and talking! Then she won't eat again for another 4 hours.

    Mine is exactly the same. I started to worry, but she is happy and gaining weight so the 5-10 minute feed must be giving her what she needs.

    Yep!! I've read it's definitely normal for feedings to be much shorter around 4 months (some babies eat only 3-5 minutes). They're becoming really efficient at the breast.

    And definitely the feeds will become more spaced out. I've also heard you want to feed at least every 4 hours during the day. So it sounds like your LO is right on track. The feeds get more spaced out and from what I understand this is also when you might switch to 3 naps a day. So if you're following a eat, play, sleep schedule it makes sense that the feeds would get more spaced out.
