Question.

Anyone else have a shower where people bought clothes and did not give reciepts? My work had a shower for me last week. When asked what we need I said diapers and wipes. I got lots of little clothes instead without receipts and I have no idea where they came from. Lots of 0-3 months too. I'm worried if I wash them he'll never wear them all.

Re: Question.

  • Some stores only carry certain brands. Like Little Me or Garanimals. I typically brought all unwanted clothes to BRU and they tried scanning. Sometimes they knew where they were purchased, even if it wasn't there. I know, super inconvenient for you to do right now, but it's worth a try.

  • You can either research where the brands are sold from and return them. Or wash and possibly use them and if you don't you can sell them second hand. I bought all my baby clothes second hand and people are always looking for deals.
  • I've had 2 baby showers (One for my family and one for SO family) and nobody gave me receipts for anything, but LO will definitely wear all those clothes so I wouldn't worry about it
  • If you download the Target app you can scan them from your phone to see if they were bought there. That's where most of the clothes I got came from, I just scanned them the. Brought them to the store and got a giftcard. Super easy!
  • Thanks! Some of them were brands that are carried in multiple stores like Gerber and Carters.
@bnwillia3 That is an excellent idea about donation. We already have a lot to donate we haven't dropped off yet. And the place we take it either the items or the sale of the items help women in shelters.
  • I have scanned tags on the apps of different stores and it has helped quite a bit. I also messaged Carters on Facebook to find out if I could take anythimg Carters back to a Carters store. The person that responded asked me to send the UPC code and looked up which store they belonged to for me, which I thought was very nice.
  • That's awesome they were so helpful! With #1 I knew everything was from walmart (no other big stores in that small town), and I exchanged things like toiletries (I didn't want J&J) and duplicates for things I actually needed. Any things that trickled in later that weren't my style or that I didn't want I took to the women's shelter.

  • I took everything that babies r us carried and they were able to take a majority of it back. Then I went to target with the rest. Anything I had left over I used a barcode scanner that helped as well but I'm keeping the rest in hopes to take it to a local family homeless shelter. But the first few methods put a huge dent in my stash lol
  • I feel like I heard Kohl's has a very liberal return policy!

This. They are pretty helpful, and I think they take back all Carter's stuff, too.

  • I was given no receipts for any clothing. I'm too lazy to try and figure out where they're all from. I know I have way too much, but I washed them all and if this baby doesn't use or fit in them...helpfully his future siblings will
  • FYI as of last week BRUs will only take back items on registry. Very frustrating but they fought me on returns that I knew came from there but weren't on my registry. It's a new policy. :(
