Between hand me downs and new stuff I feel like I have way more than I need from 0-3m. However I'm a FTM and people keep making it sound like I'll need 100 onesies to survive.
Like between new and used I have 30 swaddle blankets, 100bibs, and 50-60 onesies.
I'm thinking of returning some of the new stuff and putting the money towards the big items we still need. Don't want to return stuff I need though.
Any thoughts? TIA
Re: Question to STMs regarding baby clothes.
Good luck!!
Maybe a 12 outfits/sleepers. I'm not a huge fan of onesies. Dressing a NB in a onesie or taking one off when they've had a blowout is not fun. I predominantly use sleepers.
I do laundry every single day but we have a big family and I cloth diaper. If this is your first you may want 18-20 outfits, if you don't want to launder every other day.
Bibs - I rarely use bibs. I have maybe five and will probably use just one occasionally when baby is older.
@nflan16 I have like 20+ sleepers up to 6m sizes.
@Taekarate1978 I hear ya. I hate returning stuff people took time to shop for and pick out but I'd hate for it to sit in a drawer when I still need big things for the little guy.
I'd say a good amount of clothes would be:
-7-10 onesies
-10 cotton sleepers
-5 cotton pants
-7-10 pairs of socks
-10-15 burp cloths (cloth diaper inserts work best)
-5 cotton bibs (just in case)
-2-3 cotton hats
This is #4 for me and if you have the above listed you'll be good and only need to do laundry about once a week (unless you have a baby who has lots of blowouts but even then you'd still be set for a good 5 days before running out. Hth!
The weight ranges on clothes are notoriously inaccurate and ime, the length of your baby has more to do with what size they wear than the weight. If you have a skinny long baby you could need the bigger sizes sooner or if you have a chubby but short baby you may be in smaller sizes longer than expected.
