Placenta smoothies anyone?

Before the baby was born me and daddy discussed placenta encapsulation and how we would do it ourselves at the house. But with new baby the thought of taking an hour and a half to do that sounded like too much work (I would rather sleep.) So I froze and cut my placenta into about 6/7 pieces and have been adding them to smoothies the past week. I have about 3 smoothies left! If you're interested in digesting your placenta, but don't have time or money for the encapsulation I highly recommend smoothies! You can't taste anything and if you add the right fruits it's delicious. The idea of it sounds kind of repulsive I know but it's not as bad as you would think!

Re: Placenta smoothies anyone?

  • So what do you put in your smoothie? I've been thinking about not wanting to spend the money on incapsulation but the thought of tasting it kinda makes me wanna gag.

  • Today I had one with strawberries, blueberries, and banana. With protein powder, spinach, arugula, and a little bit of honey. Basically anything that's really strong tasting will help get your mind off of the idea your drinking placenta lol
  • You're brave! I don't think I could even bear to look at it let alone cut it up. Do you think it helped?

I had mine encapsulated and just started taking it the day before yesterday... Interestingly I felt pretty damn fantastic yesterday (took me weeks after my first baby to have a day with the same energy levels). Maybe a coincidence, who knows...
  • I have heard of it being cut up to pill size frozen and taken frozen with water 6 times a day.
  • I think it has helped actually!! I've been feeling a lot better mentally and physically. My body feels a lot stronger, and the little bit of baby blues I had went away. I also do have a lot more energy. I don't know if it's coincidence but whatever it is it feels good!!!
