Depressed

I have nothing to be sad about right now.. But I feel this cloud over me all of the time. I get really emotionally uncomfortable and I just want to cry. Anyone else dealing with this? :(

Re: Depressed

  • I'm sorry that you're feeling so awful. I think that you should definitely get a recommendation for a therapist from your primary care physician. Often times pregnancy can make one's emotional state less stable. I think it's a really good idea for you to get some help and insurance should definitely cover it. I hope that you feel better soon!

  • It's normal to feel emotional during pregnancy because of all the hormones, but you sound quite depressed. I would recommend seeing a professional counselor. Keep us posted!

  • I agree with pp's. Pregnancy hormones can make you feel all different levels of emotions. I think you should discuss this with your ob and seek some sorry of counseling. I'd hate for it to carry over into postpartum depression for you. Hope you feel better soon though.
  • Thank you guys :( it's just the weirdest thing. It's so random too.
  • I am having a few down days too. I know it will get better but it's annoying. For me it's dealing with change, never been my strong suit. Hormones definately make things more "fun". Feel better!

    Sorry you feel sad.

Go with it. Cry it out. Have you done this yet? You might feel better. Human beings have a bad habit of trying to fix sadness. Sadness doesn't need to be fixed. It needs to be cared for and paid attention to. It's ok to feel sad.

This is why i love dogs. Humans always try to fix. Dogs just sit there beside you and give you this look that says "Dude, i'm sorry you're sad. There's nothing I can do but I'm here with you if it's better with me here than to cry it out alone."

And incidentally, that method? The dog method? THAT is how you fix sadness :)
  • I had that last week. I just kept getting sadder and sadder until friday i went for blood tests and the the needle hurt just a bit and i started crying. Couldnt stop for a while either, even though i realized i was being just a tiny bit over dramatic. I had a quiet evening after that and saturday i started feeling better already! So maybe give in to your sadness and watch a movie that'll make you cry or something and hopefully it'll make the feeling go away.
  • I love the dog method @groovylocks !
