somehow I've screwed things up and DD is sleeping 12 am to 6am and then 7am to 12 pm. So yes it's midnight and I just got her Down for the night. How do I fix this? I can't stay up all night!!!
Only th I ng I can think of is try to move bedtime earlier by one hour increments until the baby is sleeping at a better hour. But idk if it'll work. I feel like a zombie these days.
I've heard to try to move it with 15 min increments, but really how easy is that when you have a baby that refuses to sleep, lol. I would probably limit her 7am-12pm "nap". Wake her up around 9 or 10. Doing a 5 hour stretch during legitimate day time hours is too much IMO.
I cut my little guys 7-12pm back and I had a crabby baby for part of the day BUT it did help with getting to sleep before midnight! That was easier than putting him to bed earlier. IMO
If LO is sleeping until 6 I would keep them up until 7:30 before putting them down for next nap. Then as PP suggested, as much as it sucks, wake them up after a couple of hours. Keep your house brighter during that part of the day and be very interactive.
If you can get them to sleep in the evening closer to 8-9pm (gradually get this earlier) then treat any wake up time after that as though it was night. Feed if hungry, otherwise help them to fall back to sleep. Minimal interaction. You likely have a challenging week ahead of you, but hopefully that will help to get things on track. My biggest suggestion is lots of lights and interaction during day time and keep nighttime very peaceful and dark.
