Bleeding after sex?

So I am in a long distance relationship for the next few months and we haven't had sex in three wks. Last night we had sex and there was a lot of blood. Well a lot to me who hasn't had any spotting at all. Like I went to the bathroom twice and still had blood. Nothing mucusy. No cramps.

Anyone else experienced this?

    That can be normal, you can bleed a bit even after having a vaginal exam with your OB. How much did you bleed? Like you had a bit on the paper when you wiped?

    I wouldn't worry too much unless it continues or it was a significant amount. But of course if you're worried it never hurts to give the nurse line a call.

    This happened to me with my first and I freaked out. But it was fine and the nurse hotline told me it was completely normal.

    It's most likely normal and from an irritated cervix. I'd still put a call in to the nurse. If you're negative blood type they may want you to get a rhogam shot just to be safe.

    It's continued sporadically. I called my doctor and he said no more intercourse and to come in Monday. He said if I start soaking through a pad every five-ten minutes then I need to go to the ER. I'm not soaking through pads. It's just worrisome to see it. Thanks ladies for your words. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

    I had some spotting after the last time DS had DTD, it was only twice though and barely noticeable. Even still my OB said to call if it happens again. Sending positive thoughts your way.
