17 weeks? How ya'll feeling?

Hi ladies, which of you are 17 weeks at this stage? Are you all having 20wk scans to find out gender? Are you doing gender reveal party? How are you all feeling generally? What do you like to get up to on your 'relax' days? Planning baby shower dates yet? When are you due? Feel free to answer as many as you like!! I'm feeling pretty good and thinking about all the above but want to hear from you girls! Xx thanks!! :)

Re: 17 weeks? How ya'll feeling?

  • I'm 17 weeks now too!! Due on the 29th.
This my second in under 2 years, so no shower. We are definitely having the scan and once everything checks out ok with the health we can't wait to find out whether it's a boy or girl! Only three more weeks! Things definitely change after the scan. It's awesome.

Sadly no relax days here with a busy toddler, but sometimes we have mor cuddly indoor days ;)

Can't believe how fast it's flying!

  • I'm also 17 weeks due on 01/30/2016 :). I actually already know the gender due to genetic testing but looking forward to my 20 week scan to make sure everything is going well and to confirm that it is a girl. I also get no relax days chasing after my 5 year old but he starts kindergarten next week so we are really excited about that which keeps my mind off of being tired. :)
  • 17w today. EDD is 1/30. This is baby #4 so no shower and no relaxation time. We are unsure about finding out gender. My ultrasound is not until 9/9. We already have 2 girls and a boy and we are fine with either gender. :)
  • 17 weeks, due 1/29.
Found out gender via bloodwork at 12 weeks, but had it confirmed at 16w ultrasound.
No reveal party, I just called and told people who already knew I was pregnant at 12 weeks, and then included her gender (and name) when we announced on Facebook to the rest of our friends at almost 14 weeks.
Generally feeling fine, mostly just hungry, hungry, hungry, with some digestive issues, but frankly I always had a funky stomach so it's nothing that new to me.
My best friend and mom are planning my shower, it's unfortunately going to have to be over Xmas break because that's when my MIL is able to be in town (she lives 2,000 miles away) and we decided that was more important to us, knowing that many guests may be busy/out of town.

  • 17 +4 today! Due January 26th. I'm a FTM so I'm enjoying all the relaxation while I can until it's all taken away! I have been thinking about shower dates only bc of the holiday being at the ideal time and family vacations. I'm thinking the weekend before thanksgiving. What is everyone else thinking for a shower date? Gender will be a surprise, I'm hoping not knowing will help me through labor bc I will be so excited to find out! :-bd
  • Today is Bump day for me so I am 17 wks today. I am also a FTM so all this is new to me
  • I am 17+2. My sides hurt from sleeping on them. I did a U/S and know I'm having a girl. I'm just between two names at the moment. I am having a baby shower but no gender reveal. I just told people so they can start getting gifts lol. :D
  • 17 weeks also due 1/30!!!! I had a maternit21 test done at 14 weeks which revealed another little mister, but this week I scheduled my level II A/S for week 19. I can't wait to see him, since my last u/s was at week 10!
This is baby #4 so no fun stuff planned but it's going way faster than I previously remember.
I can't wait to feel baby movements on the regular.

  • I'm 17 weeks.  Due January 29th.  I figured my anatomy scan would be around September 15th (most of my appointments have been around then) but my OB wanted it scheduled for September 1st.  I'm a teacher, and this was the first full week of school.  This morning I've been grading papers with my feet up!  Thinking about getting something yummy for lunch.  I'm a FTM so I am trying to soak in these last few months of doing what I want.  And today, I want food and rest.
  • I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow!  (Due date 1.31.)  I'm feeling pretty terrible right now because I have a miserable cold.  I started getting sick last Sunday eve and it's STILL hanging around.  It's frustrating because I never get colds typically, but I guess that whole your immune system is lowered when you're pregnant thing is real!  ;)  So today I'm just resting, just like yesterday and the day before, and trying not to go out of my mind with boredom.

In more fun topics, we've known about the gender since very early due to chromosomal testing, so our friends and family have known for a while - no gender reveal necessary.  We're doing our 20 week anatomy scan on the 17th of September and I'm SO excited because it'll be the halfway point for the pregnancy and pregnancy has been kinda rough on me so far.  I was only just out of the woods of all day morning sickness when I got this darn cold.  And somewhere in the middle of that we moved from a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom, so I guess mostly in my "relax" time I'm still unpacking, haha.  :)  I'm also going to make some chicken soup and fresh fruit smoothies today, in hopes of knocking out this cold with vitamins and broth.  ;)

Wow, this came out way more complaining than I meant it too, but I think that's the cold talking.  We are super excited for our baby girl and once I feel better we're going to start decorating the nursery a bit, which will be great.  I'm also starting work on a new TV show on Monday, and it's always fun (though a bit daunting) to get started, so I'm really hoping the cold passes over the weekend.  Fingers crossed!  Happy weekend, everyone!  :)
  • any Jan mom's showing yet, im 17 weeks due Jan 30 2016 :) no bump yet :/
  • I'm due the same day as you and I also have no bump yet.
  • I have no proper bump yet either.  I mean there's kiiind of a bump, but so tiny you would only notice if I wasn't wearing any clothes.  And I'm still fitting in almost all of my regular clothes (though I haven't worn jeans in a couple weeks.)  I want to have the bump already!  :)  I'm a FTM so it'll make everything more real, you know?
  • No PROPER hard bump yet but when I wear maternity clothes (ahh, so comfy) they make my blump look like a bump, so I'm just rocking it, lol. I can still fit into my normal dresses, but haven't wanted to stretch them out in hopes that one day I'll fit perfectly in them again.

  • I'm due Jan 27th. Though I seriously think I'll be lucky to go on the 28th, weird feeling I have for no apparent reason!
September 10th is a/s day, pretty excited to find out what this little baby will be! I've been trying to wait patiently! No plans for a gender reveal party, but I am planning to wait from September 10th till the 1st or 2nd weekend in November when we'll have my baby shower to tell anyone the gender! It'll be hard but it's my compromise with hubs that we find out the gender like he wants but it's kept a secret from anyone else until the shower. My mom will be throwing me the shower. She was very open to my suggestion to have the shower before all the holidays.
Just this week my stomach has been much harder, I like it. It feels more structured lol. I seem to feel my baby sometimes from the inside, but I can't from the outside yet.
I continue to take B6 to avoid any sick days and that's been going well. Only got sick a couple times in week 16.
It's really fun to hear from other mommas that are due at the end of Jan. most of the time I feel so behind in the feed because I'm due at the end of the month.
  • 17 weeks here, due 1/28! Feeling pretty great. Energy is back and appetite is back with a vengeance. My anatomy scan is Sept. 14, feels like forever away. I'm pretty anxious for it so that we can get another peek at the baby (since my last ultrasound was at 7 weeks). We also can't wait to find out the sex and of course that everything/one is healthy and developing properly.

I am starting to get a bump. It is still a lot of bloat since it is bigger some days. It is also much more noticeable in maternity shirts. I feel like in my regular shirts I just look fat, not pregnant.

Thought of another question! Have any of you end of the month moms not started thinking/discussing names? Very early on hubs and I had one name conversation that we quickly found we like different styles of names. So we ended the conversation because it didn't do us any good to get frustrated over girls names if it's a boy, or vice versa. : ) and ever since then I'll sorta peruse names on this app and stuff but I'm really not looking into them or contemplating them until we find out the sex. Am I alone?
  • I'm 17 weeks due 28th Jan, FTM! Anatomy scan on 10th sept and I am so excited to see baby again, find out all is okay (fingers crossed) and find out the sex. I am literally so impatient for it haha. I have no bump yet other than a squishy, bloated one. Can't wait for it to go hard and be a real bump so I feel more pregnant.
I think I have felt tiny movements too, they are always over so quickly that I feel like I imagined it.
I am not having a reveal party but I like doing things a little differently so definitely toying with ideas of how to reveal to family, friends and Facebook.
I have been told baby shower is under control and no more so that's exciting :)
  • I am 17wks 5days...due Jan. 26th..anatomy scan 9/9...we don't know the gender but my 19 yr old daughter does...she is throwing us a reveal party if we make it to 24 wks...I had 3 previous losses b4 this one...I have a 22 yr old son as well...I am 43yrs old and starting over is scary, but exciting also...I have been off of work since 9 wks due to my job as a press mechanic so I get all the relaxing I want..I also bought a fetal doppler for my own peace of mind this time around...we r hoping for the best but still a bit on guard also. My 3 lil pug children keep me busy though...lol
  • 17+1 today and found out that it's a boy at 13 weeks with a scan (we both work in a hospital and are friends with us tech) it was clearly a boy lol. Confirmed sex again at high risk us. Now have scans every two weeks due to incompetent cervix. Been working overtime paying off bills and saving. This is my second and dh first. My son was super excited when we did gender reveal party to find out it was a boy. We sprayed blue silly string at all immediate family that could come. Let everyone get involved by covering the cans half pink and half blue. Friends are throwing the baby shower Oct 3rd due to holidays and chances I'll go early. Also was great for my family from out of town. We are having a m/f baby shower especially since this is my second but so far away from my first. I'm starting to show and my scrubs are getting tight but it's my breast that are huge now! It's almost embarrassing! I actually get comments about them from people all day! Another nurse in the hospital that I have never seen beforetold me yesterday in training that I had great tits! I didn't know how to take that.
  • @MommaB16 We already had our first name picked out before even conceiving, took a few months to agree on a middle name...we both have the same style in that be both hate anything too weird or too boring, we didn't even really discuss names, I just said "I like this name" and he said "Yeah that works" and it was done, lol.

We had a boy name from the beginning. It's the same name my daughter would have had, had she been a boy. When we found out it was like "you ok with his name? Yeah me too." Done and done.
If he would have been a girl, we had a way harder time agreeing. It just worked in our favor this time!

  • We have a name, first and middle. I
Actually have a nice size bump. It's probably because I'm short. I was thinking a week before thanksgiving for the shower as well (like someone said before). I already registered at one store with my husband. I found out the gender at 16 weeks. I want everything to be done timely. So I can start sending out those save the dates.
  • We are like, 90% sure of a first name for our little girl, though I am still wanting to take a couple of options into the hospital when we meet her, just to make sure her name fits.  We are lost on middle names.  Too many options!  Both of my grandmothers hated their names, weirdly enough, and my husband's grandmother already has a namesake in his family.  (He didn't know his other grandmother.)  So, we don't really have any sentimental faves and we're just testing out what seems like every name in the world to see what fits, haha.

It's funny though, if it had been a boy we would have been all set - we came up with a boy's first and middle name on our honeymoon!  But we're keeping that one on the back burner to hopefully use one day.

I am SO looking forward to getting to the halfway point at 20 weeks- anyone else?  My first trimester was ROUGH so it was something I was really counting down to and now we're all almost there!  After that, I'm looking forward to when the baby is viable outside the womb, somewhere around 25-26 weeks, since it'll make me relax a bit. (I have a high risk pregnancy.)  Anyone else have any specific weeks or other benchmarks they're looking forward to in this process?

Hope you're all having a great Sunday!

  • @maureenmce Also excited for 20 weeks...and to definitively feel movement/kicks (I MAY have felt SOMETHING, but this whole "quickening" thing is too up in the air, it could just be gas, and I feel like I'm waiting for it too much so any little thing I feel I think is movement and then I second guess it, haha) and have a true honest to goodness bump. I have a blump that looks like a bump in tight maternity clothes, but still mushes when I sit down. I don't want to be super huge, I know it will be difficult later on and I'll regret wishing I were bigger now, but at the moment I'd love to just look deliciously round and firm and obviously pregnant to total strangers :)

  • Where are our babies? I was told that at 20 weeks the babies at the belly button but I'm just a couple days away from 18 weeks and I'm feeling movements higher than below my belly button (which is starting now to look like a crater 8 ( ) or any other ideas what this feeling is?
  • Hi ladies! :-h
Thank you so much for all the replies! Amazing to hear all your updates, plans and growth! So as for me I'm 17 wks 2 days due 01/31/16! I have a good little bump and sometimes feel little kicks or more described as a muscle twitch feeling but has to be baby! Scan is at 19wks and 2 days coming up but we are going to do an outdoor park baby reveal party with friends and family and find out the gender of our baby with them then and get the ultrasound lady to write it down on paper for us to take to both a cake and balloon store :D thinking of doing baby shower either the 28th of Nov or the 5th of Dec, leaning more to Nov though :) feeling good and relaxed, sometimes when I turn the next week pregnant I get a bout of nausea and then am fine during the week - strange! Have any of you found the perfect stretch mark remedy as yet? Xo much loved Xo
