Sorry if Tmi but...

I know our sense of smell has increased, at least mine has dramatically. I also noticed more discharge lately as I'm nearing the end but this morning I noticed a smell and to me it is not pleasant. Has anyone else noticed an increase in discharge and/or mucus with a smell? Sorry for the tmi

Re: Sorry if Tmi but...

  • I'm really glad you posted this because I feel the same way. I wasn't sure how to ask, without using the words "not feeling fresh" ;) Every time I sit to pee I'm grossed out by the smell. It's my main deterrent to sex right now too (besides being a whale and back pain and....)
I had my GBS swab today and after I wanted to ask if the amount/odor was normal but I was too shy/embarrassed to ask.

  • Yeah I have to, it's embarrassing so I started wearing panty liners because it would make my underwear have the scent
  • Your body is working really hard to keep everything clean and safe for baby so increased discharge is normal, your body is just flushing itself out. You may also be very slowly losing part of your mucous plug. Keeping baby wipes in the bathroom might help you feel fresher.
  • I did until it went away. Come to discover I have a yeast infection and apparently that mean odorless discharge along with other "joyous" symptoms. Never knew that. Learning something new everyday in this pregnancy haha
  • Yes, this is something I am also experiencing.  I started using panty liners and FDS.

  • Yup, it's so gross. Pantyliners are my go to. Blech.

  • Ugh yes I hate it my summers eve wash has become my best friend
  • I've had this for a while. Honestly, sometimes it's discharge, sometimes sweat, and sometimes pee. I try to get as much pee out as I can, but it seems like I leak a little without feeling it at some point every day. I've started showering twice a day to feel fresher. We're almost there, though!!
  • I have been leaking since day 1. Full on pads daily to avoid the scent. Can't wait til this stops!

  • My SIL is a labor and delivery nurse and she says that every woman stinks when they get close to the end. I think that I smell worse than normal.

  • Yes! Glad it's not just me. Honestly, I've really noticed it since I lost my plug. I can't believe how gross pregnancy is. Ugh. But you get something so cute when it's all done :)
  • Ugh. I've had the "not so fresh" feeling for quite some time - and it is getting worse close to the end. I'm glad to know I'm not alone and it's normal.
  • Glad it seems like many of you are having similar annoyances. :) thanks for your replies!! :)
  • I am feeling the same thing! More discharge, not feeling clean EVER! I am using liners, baby powder, wipes, showering twice a day and I cant keep up!! Thank goodness for only 25 days left to go!! YIKES

  • I don't notice more discharge, but I definitely notice the stank lol.
  • Soggy panties and the guessing game of fluid discharge or pee! Hahaha I had no idea that vajayjays got so gross the last month
  • Grateful for you guys!! It's so nice to have peers.
  • Yup, I am in the same boat.  I had to stop with pantyliners though because they were irritating me and making it much more painful. I just change underwear often.
  • I almost wonder if we wash too much, it makes it worse. Like your body over compensates and produces more? Kind of like if you wash your hair too much it makes it oily? Not to be gross, but I didnt shower yesterday and honestly, I think it wasn't as bad..
