Lightning pains!

Anyone else having lightning pains in or around the vaginal area? Almost contraction like but that's not what it is. It progressed like a contraction would but no contractions were recorded at the hospital.

It's a lot of fun when it happens at work and you like stop and gasp. People look at you like the baby is about to drop out onto the floor. Lightening pains suck at for me at least they have started earlier each subsequent pregnancy.
  • Yes. The Dr told me it was normal, but I can't remember what it's called. Something about the ligaments being inflamed and will get worse as pregnancy progresses. He told me to get a maternity belt/band to wear when I'm not sleeping, annoying yes, but it's made a huge difference. Haven't had it happen since. Best $12 I spent on Amazon.
  • Which maternity belt did you choose?
  • I will definitely try the belt. I ended up going to the hospital because it got so bad and they didn't check anything other than whether or not it was a contraction.
  • It's round ligament pain- so long as it goes away after a second- it's nothing to be worried about. If it lasts a little while try soaking in an Epsom salt bath and drinking plenty of water. If it doesn't subside after that- call the doctor.
