No sign of mucus plug

in 3rd Trimester
im 40 weeks pregnant, no sign of mucus plug. I see the doctor tomorrow but as of last week I've not dilated at all. Any words of motivation? I'm dying for labor but it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen soon. I'm miserable still working 12 hour days on my feet and just wondering when I'll see a sign of labor coming.

    Some people don't lose there plug until they are a few centimeters dilated and I lost part of mine 2 weeks ago at 35wks and I'm not dilated at all! I'm a FTM so I don't have advice after that. I'm 37wks and work in an office and I am miserable so I can't imagine how to feel right now, but you've made it this far and it shouldn't be long (even though every day feels like a year) till baby is here!     2 more weeks is still soon. So at least you know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Your due date can be off by up to 2 weeks. So if your baby is past your due date, he/she just isn't ready to come it yet. Hang in there!

    I went to the doctor at 39+4 and was not dilated, with my mucus plug in tact. I went into labor naturally at 39+6 and lost my plug in pieces as labor began. Some people don't dilate or lose their plugs until labor starts, and some people lose their plugs and are dilated for weeks before labor begins. Unfortunately there are no "signs" of eminent labor other than labor itself.

    Hang in there...this probably doesn't make you feel better but I promise that the first two weeks PP are a lot worse comfort wise than the last weeks of pregnancy are, especially if you're breastfeeding, even though you're at home instead of at work. Settle in, because you're not going to feel back to your pre-pregnancy normal for a long while.

    I'm 38 weeks +2 days 2cm dilated 90% effaced and lost my plug tonight and been having false labor contractions for a week and actual labor hasn't started yet. I think it just starts when it's supposed to and none of this means anything. I'm also still working 12hr night shifts but I just keep thinking I want my 12 weeks leave after the baby instead of now. Hang in there you've got between 2 more weeks max and probably less than that.

    I am 38 weeks pregnant 1cm dilated and 70% effaced as of my last visit. I am a FTM so I am always looking for my mucus plug and I have yet to lose it. I know it's hard to be patient but think of the precious baby you will be holding in just a few short days or weeks! I try to keep myself busy and I always think worse case scenario such as I am planning to be overdue to being a FTM so that when I do hit my due date, I'm not disappointed. Best wishes OP!
