Amby Baby Hammack

I searched 1st and didnt see this discussed in the past. Im curious if anyone has used the Amby hammock or plans to? I've heard great things and a coworker sold me one that he used with his 2 sons. He raved it helped them sleep alot! Anyone else have experience or plan to try it with their bundle of joy? Im hoping it will aid in longer periods of sleep for my baby (and me!)

    I have always found those pretty scary and un-secure looking. I think I would get less sleep because of worrying about baby sliding around or getting into an unsafe position. I could be 110% wrong, but to me, it would be a constant stress. I'm curious to see if anyone has any experience with these.

    I had to Google it as I've never heard of it before. I'd never use one because I wouldn't feel safe with my baby in it. I agree with pp that it could be easy for baby to slide into an unsafe position.

    Also, a newborn is going to wake during the night when they need you, especially a bf baby. So I'm not crazy about special devices made to make baby sleep longer just for my sake. Don't get me wrong, when my son started sleeping through the night I was extatic!

    I agree I wouldn't be comfortable having my baby sleep in one of these. Also, when I Googled it a page for the CPSC came up about a recall on these from 2009/2010 because there were some babies that suffocated in them. It also says the company is no longer in business, although there is a website for Amby that looks current. I don't know how old the hammock is that your coworker gave you, but at the very least I would check to make sure it wasn't one of the ones that was recalled.     Yeah i already looked into the recall and read all about it then made a decision based off the info i found. But i appreciate you making sure i knew about it!
