Slow rising hormone levels and empty sack seen an ultrasound

I when to the doctor early this on month on the 6th. We did an ultrasound to see how far I was and we only saw a sac.. They said it looked like I was only around 5 week along. I figure that was about right, well we when on and did the lab work and all that lovely stuff. My mom called me and told me that I had to come back for my lab work because my hormones seem low for how far I am.(Note: my mom works at the doctors clinic) so I did and she called me saying that they were slow rising and it seem like there was no baby...... But I feel the same... I still get sick and all the lovely things like I was before.. So I was wonder are there any women who have been through this same thing and how it ended up?? I guess I'm just scaried that they're right....

  • So scary, I'm so sorry you're going through this :-( I don't have any answers for you, but I hope you get them soon. When are you going in for a follow-up?

  • I haven't personally gone through it because my doctor never sees me before 9 weeks, but I've read about women whose levels started low and didn't seem to rise fast enough but everything turned out okay. There is a huge range of numbers depending on how far along you are. If you know what your numbers are I would google the chart to find it and see what it says. That may help to give you an idea of what's going on and keep you positive. Just remember anything is possible! Good luck!

  • Good luck! I had to do 5 different blood draws to watch the pattern in which they were rising. Started out doubling every 72 hrs and then by the 5th blood draw they tripled in 48hrs. That was 4 weeks ago and I've since had an ultrasound showing a healthy strong baby! Everyone's body isn't textbook! Try to stay positive and not stress!!!
