Top 5 products

hey girls! I've been noticing I use the same baby products all the time. Aside from the obvious like diapers and milk ( breast or bottle) What are some of the things you can't live without?

Here are mine:

1- wubba nub pacifier
2- breast pads for leakage
3- car seat! She sleeps in it too!
4- ergo carrier
5- sleep sheep white noise maker

  • Great thread! I love reading everyone's list!

    1. Woombie Swaddler - we got a FULL night sleep last night!!
    2. Chicco Silicone Pacifier - I prefer this style because it's all one piece, versus others that could separate and present a choking hazard.
    3. TONS of muslin swaddles - we use them for everything: swaddling during the day, burp cloths, over the car seat to shield from the sun, etc
    4. Moses Basket - I use this in the living room during the day. Great spot to put baby down while I do chores. I wouldn't have bought one for myself but it was gifted to us and we use it daily.
    5. Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat/Chicco Lightway Plus stroller - we got an expensive and fancy pram for day trips, walks, etc but the car seat/umbrella stroller combo is just super easy right now.
  • 1. Rock and play- he sleeps in this the majority of the time

    2. Diaper caddy - we don't have a changing table so the diaper caddy is great for keeping all the changing supplies in one place

    3. Boppy

    4. Swing

That's all I can think of. We have a ton of stuff we don't really need or use!
  • 1. Rock'n'play - lifesaver!!!
    2. Muslin swaddle blankets- I totally thought these were over rated til I tried them, they're big enough to use for playtime and light weight so not too hot to use as a nursing cover.
    3. Nipple shield- can't nurse without it (I keep an extra in the diaper bag just in case)
    4. Gripe water
    5. Gerber prefold cloth diapers- giant absorbent burp clothes!!
  • 1. Swaddle me blankets
    2. Ergo carrier
    3. Boppy
    4. Bouncer seat
    5. Soothie pacifier

Use(d) all of these every day with both kiddos
  • 1. Boppy pillow
    2. Evenflo infant carrier
    3. Pack n Play
    4. Playmat
    5. Pacifier
  • 1-soothie brand pacifiers
    2-levana video monitor
3-fisher price 4-1 rock and glide (lifesaver)
4-the nicu gave me bags and bags of the milk storage containers they use for breast milk and has been awesome as I can freeze my milk right in them, thaw, throw a nipple on and feed without putting in a different bottle! Awesome!!
5-urbini stroller and car seat combo :)

Seen a few of you are saying your bobby pillow. What are you using it for now that your not pregnant? I barely used it for sleeping with so would be nice to know if I could use it a different way since it cost 80$
  • 1. Boppy pillow- my husband had talked me out of getting one, then went and bought me one himself after seeing me struggle to get comfortable while breastfeeding (@sbbabyonboard- perhaps you have s different one than most of us? Mine is a C shape and you sort of wedge it on your lap while BFing, and it wasn't $80)
    2. Bouncy chair- for sleeping!
    3. Muslin blankets
    4. Chicco travel system
    5. Burts Bees baby soap- baby girl LOVES baths and this smells so good!
  • 1. Muslin swaddle blankets. We have these from Amazon. LOVE the bright colors. We swaddle him in them during the day for naps.

    2. Miracle Blanket. We use this at night to swaddle him, to differentiate between daytime sleep and nighttime sleep.

    3. Mam pacifiers. Specifically the MAM Night pacifiers that glow in the dark, making it easy for me to find and replace it when he wakes at night without having to turn on the light.

    4. Itzbeen timer. This is the 2nd kiddo I've used it for, and I still love it. I only use it at night to keep track of how many hours we have gone between diaper changes and feedings. Also, the nightlight on it is AWESOME for giving enough light to latch him on in the middle of the night without turning on bigger lights to wake him/us up.

    5. Cloth diapers. Not just for diapering but he is a HUGE spitter, and I am always using them as burp cloths.

    1.) pacifier
2.) the insert that came with my pack and play. It's very similar to a rock and play but smaller. I use mine all the time. We have an all in one car seat so it doesn't leave the car. I just take this with me every where for LO to lay in.
    3.) muslin blankets
4.) my recliner. It's currently in my bedroom which is great.
    5.) swaddle me
  • @SBbabyonboard the Boppy is a breastfeeding pillow. You might be thinking of the Snoogle pillow for sleeping with while pregnant.
  • Got 2 more products...
    6. Nipple shields! I don't use them all the time, but a few times a day saves my nipples & gives them a break

    7. Baby washcloths! I constantly have one handy when changing my baby boy! As soon as I get him wiped I cover his little "wang" with one. I go through a lot of them as they often end up soaked in pee, but they block & catch that stream....a MUST HAVE for baby boys!
  • @ecloho have you seen the peepee teepees? I had one with my first son. I laughed when I got one as a shower gift but they actually work quite well. Prevents the "showers" when changing your baby boy.
  • 1. Rock and play
    2. City mini stroller, she is so fussy around 5-7, but LOVES going on walks and calms her right down. Thank god this child is a summer baby :)
    3. Play mat
    4. Muslin blankets, agree with PP so nice for summer as it's really breathable and have many uses
    5. Nipple shield, so far she still needs it, tho I am trying to BF without it-anyone successfully stop using it fill me in on your secrets :)

BONUS: not a product, but this chick loves music-we sit outside and play my iTunes and it calms her (also entertaining for both of us)
  • Yes @abbymessina I have heard of these... Wonder how much they cost & where to buy them?

@schuenk2 I just started to try nursing without the shield & my LO was fine either way. I use it several times during the day to give my nips a rest, but nurse a lot without it. He doesn't seem to be affected whether I use it or not. The shield is a pain to deal with during the middle of the night feeds.
  • 1. My Brest Friend nursing pillow 2. Razbaby pacifier 3. Graco Snug Ride travel system 4. Medela nipple shield (we no longer rely on it, but we used it for the first month and it's the reason I was able to make breastfeeding work) 5. Boudreaux's Butt Paste

  • 1. Swaddleme - DD got out of every swaddle including double swaddle but the Velcro keeps her in and snug and gets us 3-4 hours of sleep at night.

    2. Rock n Play - this is where she sleeps at night.

    3. Ergo carrier with infant insert - tried several carriers before finding one that works for us.

    4. Swing - great place to settle her down during the day and give us a break.

    5. Swaddle blankets - although we don't use them to swaddle her they have so many more uses right now, burp cloth, car seat cover, light blanket and they are so soft and hold DD amazing smell so well!

  • ...so I'm up to 8 now...but
    8. My IPhone! I use it for white noise, pandora, keeping time, setting feed alarms, taking notes about feeds, keeping up with the bump & Facebook while nursing, using the flashlight, googling stuff about babies & nursing, taking photos of my LO...

We were all miserable his first 5 weeks of life till he started this and now I have the most pleasant, easy going baby!
