Working out

Any suggestions on how to motivate yourself to get back into a work out routine?

Re: Working out

  • I've read being active will make labor easier. There's a motivation!!

I know what you're saying, though. I basically took first tri off from working out except walking. Now it's so hard to make myself go back. Like anything, you need to do it for a couple of weeks before it becomes a habit and you feel that "reward".

  • You could check out the weekly work out thread, I've never looked because walking to the toilet is as far as I go lately but it seems to be a hit.

It might be on page 2 or 3 by now I think it's on Monday or Tuesday?

Agreed. Thats my motivations, though I haven't actually used said motivation yet. Hopefully once it cools down around here I plan to start walking at least...

  • 1st tri really kicked my butt and I worked out maybe once or twice. I'm definitely have more energy now, which is great because I have a 10k in two weeks! That's my motivation, but my doctor was pretty serious about getting exercise in. She essentially said labor is like the hardest cardio exercise ever.

YESSSSS! The weather! It is so hot! I'll try to pick up when the kiddo is in school and the weather sucks less.

  • My main motivation is loosing the weight faster after the baby is here! And also the labor thing lol. However I put on 8 lbs first tri which is a lot for first tri and that was while some excercising! I try walking a lot but i get so winded! Do u thing walking is enough for excercise?
I feel like my trimestrs are switched. My first i was energetic and never had a single symptoms. Although I still have none, i get tired easily!
  • They say labor is the hardest cardiovascular you will ever do... not sure I am a first time preggie and have been sticking with my running routine through the beginning. If you don't do it you lose it. That is how it always has been for me. That is my motivation. I don't want to lose it plus it helps me get the stress out and it keeps me confident in my growing body. Although it's hard as crap sometimes to get up and go.
  • My motivation is that I want to be an active mom.  I want to be able to do stuff with my kid without keeling over after two minutes.  Might as well start now!
