I hope today is the day!

So the car died and we had to walk to Walmart to get a battery starter because no one could come help us. It was a very nice walk up until I started having pain all over my stomach. I think it was a contraction but I haven't had another. I will be looking out for them though.

hopefully today is the day. Does anyone know how to explain what contractions felt like in the beginning?

Tightening of your entire abdomen with increasing intensity of pain.

My first indication was much more than usual lower back pain, to the point that I couldn't sleep at all, then my water broke. That and the day before I was compelled to scrub the hardwood floors in the entire downstairs on my hands and knees.

It feels like a period cramp & someone squeezing you around your abdomen at the same time. Can become intense enough to take your breath away.

My initial contractions just felt like intermittent period pains that eventually got stronger and more regular. To begin with they were just uncomfortable and not overly painful.
