As our due dates rapidly approach, I promise the following

1. I will NOT post a picture of my mucus plug.

2. I will NOT ask you to decide if I am in labor.

3. I will reach out for experiences of mamas with similar situations, but I will NOT rely on you for medical advice.

4. I will call my doctor with concerns.

Anyone else have something?

I will not try to check my own cervix or break my own water (happened on another site back in 2013, along with mucus plug pics!).

I will, if I start thinking I can't handle being pregnant a few more weeks, remind myself what the moms of preemies have been through (like having to leave their LO in the NICI and not even get to snuggle for weeks!). A few weeks of discomfort is worth it to deliver a healthy baby!

This is actually a really really good one that I hope I would have thought about in the case that I had an easier labor (I'm positive I would think about it if I didn't), but I'm really glad you touched on it! It's something we literally have no control over, yet so many women will be dealing with at varying levels all at once.

@elmann1, on the other end of the spectrum, I promise to not post horrifying details in my birth story that will scare the crap out of women waiting out the last days/weeks before labor. Not that I'm anticipating any!

I swear to keep how much weight I've gained throughout my whole pregnancy to myself and not post it on a site full of hormonal women who may not rejoice with me! Not only that, but I swear not to post fitness tips either. I don't care!! I just want some chocolate! I haven't seen it here, but another forum I'm on is flooded with it! That's great if you are health conscious but when you tell me you want to get back to your size 1 two weeks after the baby is born, I'm gonna have to be excused to throw up. Maybe then I can fit back in my size 12's. ugh... Anyways.. I swear to send thank you cards after I receive gifts at my baby shower (not because you tell me to but because its the sensible thing to do when someone gives you a gift, otherwise it would be considered... um... the word I'm looking for is rude I believe) I swear to go to the hospital if the pain I'm going through is remotely close to what I'd imagine labor to feel like (I'm a FTM. I have no clue but I'm thinking its gonna be worse then PMS) I also swear that I'm not going to post pics of anything that comes out of my body... probably not even my baby. There are weirdo's out there online. I swear to look past all the hardships that come with third trimester, and be thankful that I've had a healthy pregnancy.

I love so many of these posts!

I made this promise when I was pregnant with DD, and I've kept it up for years:

I solemnly swear to never (that's right, I said never) be a BTDT mom who dishes out negative "Just you wait..." comments to expecting parents.

Instead, I work really hard to empathize with a pregnant first time mom and her SO, and I also work to support them in whatever birth plan/parenting style they intend to have. People don't need someone to say, "HA! Like that's gonna work!" or "Right. Good luck with that!"
