  • Week: 8

What's new with baby (size, development): raspberry!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Just trying to make it through each day!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: So far, I haven't vomited at all but man.. I feel queasy all day! Yuck! From what my OB says a lot of what I'm feeling is partially caused by the progesterone I have to take. I can't wait until week 12 when I no longer need to take it!!!

GTKY: What is a family tradition from your childhood that you are looking forward to sharing with your LO? I'm not really sure on traditions but I just cannot wait to watch my son become a big brother! He will be almost 4.5 and he is so excited!!!!
  • Week: 11 too! Hi due date friends! :)

What's new with baby (size, development): the bump says lime, but I think it's probably more like a key lime if it's not even 2" long...

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Trying to mentally prepare myself to tell my boss. I think I might do it this week, get it off my chest.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Count me among those sleeping all the time. I fall asleep on the couch around 9 o'clock almost every night. This will go away for a little, right??

GTKY: What is a family tradition from your childhood that you are looking forward to sharing with your LO? Having moved away from my family, my husband and I talk all the time about how much we miss Rosh Hashana & Passover dinners. We are so excited to bring our baby home for those big fun family meals.
  • Hmmm not really a ticker changer but I went for a dating ultrasound yesterday and turns out I am only 7 weeks 3 days (I thought I should be around 9 weeks), which pushes my due date out to April 3rd.  I still plan to stay with this March mama group and hopefully it's ok with everyone. :)

What's new with baby (size, development): Small (blueberry is what thebump says) with bpm 150

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Squats, a lot of them. And will be telling my boss tomorrow. Also need to figure out how to rearrange some furniture to fit another crib in the house.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Loss of appetite, heartburn, many dreams/can't sleep well, frequent bathroom trips, cramps

GTKY: What is a family tradition from your childhood that you are looking forward to sharing with your LO? Christmas is a big thing for me since I was little but never big for my husband. I've been trying to do get him excited about it since DD was born so will do that again this year.

  • Week: 9

What's new with baby (size, development): Promoted from embryo to fetus.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Called my insurance company today to see what is/isn't covered. Have started thinking about moving into a bigger place, but hoping to stay in our current apartment for a few more months because the rent is so cheap. First US next week!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  constipation, nausea, heartburn, urinary frequency....

GTKY: What is a family tradition from your childhood that you are looking forward to sharing with your LO?  Getting new pjs on Christmas Eve and visiting my favorite local house/s with tacky Christmas lights.

  • What's new with baby (size, development:) 10 Weeks a prune.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: just trying to eat right don't really do much until later.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I haven't thrown up this pregnancy but I do get nauseated on occasion.

GTKY: What is a family tradition from your childhood that you are looking forward to sharing with your LO? So many we buy Christmas tree ornaments on our vacations of the places we attend and put them on the tree as a family and recall our memories of the vacations as we put them on our tree. We also get the kids Christmas PJs they open on Christmas Eve and we watch a movie and eat popcorn and snacks as a family they are some of the best memories we have as the family. We head to our family for Thanksgiving for a week and have a week long holiday get together it's the best. Trick or treating and then Halloween parties thrown in our neighborhood. Fall and Winter are my favorite times of year.

  • Always a day late! Oops!

    Week: 11!

What's new with baby (size, development): Lime! No more webbed fingers and toes!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Just eating as healthy as possible, taking it easy and getting some exercise in when I can.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I can't tell if my nausea and fatigue are getting better, or if I'm just getting used to them! Ha! Some days are better than others, for sure. At my appointment on Monday, I got to hear that glorious little heartbeat once again - beating strong at 178 bpm!

Question... How are you all planning to stay within the recommended 25-35 lbs. gained during pregnancy?! I mean, I know the obvious - eat healthy and workout, but it's so hard when all I want to eat is toaster strudel and Italian food / pasta! My doctor said to 'aim for 25' so that if I come in above that, I'll be within the recommended zone, but I gained 41 lbs. last time around. How does anyone gain just 25 lbs.?!

GTKY: What is a family tradition from your childhood that you are looking forward to sharing with your LO? All the fall and winter holidays / traditions! Fall and winter are so fun! I love everything from visiting pumpkin patches to trick-or-treating to Thanksgiving to Christmas! Can't wait to continue those traditions as a family of four!

  • @dannyjoe2012 - last time I gained 45 lbs and I never lost those last 10 lbs. My goal is to gain only 35 lbs this time but who knows how it'll go. The biggest difference this time around is I'm working out a ton more. Resistance training 2x per week and walking 4 miles 2-3x per week. Try to stay active if you can!

  • yodapup - It sounds like you've got an awesome plan! I think I'll try the same... to really keep up with my workouts.

As for the food, it's hard... but hopefully I can just make healthy choices and stay away from sugar when possible.
