    1. How many weeks postpartum?
    4 months

    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)?
I have 2 lbs to go, but I'm still a size bigger

    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight?
I want to be a size 10, my triathlon weight size. I don't know what that weight was because my scale was broken then. By my estimate, I have about 40lbs to go.

    4. What is your overall plan?
My plan isn't working, so I contacted a personal trainer last week. We're playing phone tag now. Hope to set something up in the next few weeks. I lost all the baby weight plus 10 lbs after baby #1 when i started working with a trainer. Had to stop from uncontrollable vomiting with the next pregnancy. And now I'm here.

    5. How did last week go?
Not gonna lie. I didn't exercise at all last week. Not once. I was ready for bed at 7 or 8 every night and fought it just to get dinner cleaned up and daycare stuff packed. I'm also feeling nauseated and dizzy. It feels like pregnancy. I'd be freaking out, but I got the Nexplanon a few weeks ago and heard that phantom pregnancy symptoms are common. But if they don't settle down in a few months, I'll have the dang thing removed.

    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
Set something up with the trainer. Spin bike daily (when I'm not too tired), workout during lunch if schedule allows.

QOTW - If time, finances, geography, etc were not a factor, what would be your favorite outdoor activity?
Surfing. But I live in Ohio so....right.

    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)?
    6-8
    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight?
    12-15
    4. What is your overall plan?
Once I go back to work will use sparkpeople. And aim for higher intensity workouts that take less time.

    5. How did last week go?
I think I'm up a pound, boo :( hopefully is muscle weight, since I have been working on strength.
I never thought I'd be so excited about jogging 1.5 miles (consecutively). Felt pretty bad the first time, but has been getting more enjoyable. The biggest challenge is that I still leak pee like crazy, so sad :(

    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
Keep jogging more and walking less :)
Guess I need to be a little more attentive to my eating, also. Don't want to go backwards.
One challenge is that I'm traveling and don't have my normal clothes me, so I don't see that things don't fit... Because I actually feel pretty good about my body right now since its been almost a year since I've been even this small (I gained fast when pg). Feeling good just makes it harder to get motivated

QOTW - If time, finances, geography, etc were not a favtor, what would be your favorite outdoor activity?
I think climbing will always be my favorite. Maybe add scuba -that's something I haven't done. And have always wanted to get into whitewater kayaking.

  • 1. How many weeks postpartum?
    8 weeks today
    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)?
According to the scale at the gym, 7 more pounds (didn't lose any this week)
    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight?
10 additional once the pregnancy weight is gone.
    4. What is your overall plan?
Keep going to the gym, daily stroller walks, and stop eating so many sweets!!!
    5. How did last week go?
Exercise - great.  Went to gym three times and did my stroller walks every day.  Eating - terrible!  My sweet tooth is out of control!
    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
Cut back on those sweets (I hope)!!!
QOTW - If time, finances, geography, etc were not a favtor, what would be your favorite outdoor activity?
Hmm... does sun bathing count?  Ok, for real.  I love camping.  DH and I used to go at least twice a year, which was not nearly enough.  I can't wait until LO is old enough so we can start camping again.

    12.5 weeks

Only 6 lbs to PP and 8 o ideal weight!

Overall plan: eat less move more.

Last week went relatively well: I slept better and had more energy to move and to resist temptation.

We'll be on the road next week, so I really have to watch it and opt for salads and nutritious foods. I'm bringing oatmeal, granola and almond milk with me for cravings.

My favourite outdoor activities are hiking, swimming in the mediterranean (see profile picture), skiing, beach volleyball and tennis. I used to hate running but actually grew to enjoy it over the last decade and now know what a "runner's high" is... Still, I'd much rather walk around interesting cities than jog in a park... But take me to a mountain and I'm all about climbing to the top and oooohing at the view.

Oh, @mindaa just reminded me of paddling. Not sure I'd be up for whitewater kayaking, but give me any ol boat with a paddle and some smooth water and I'm a happy camper (no pun intended).

@mattandlora surfing seems so impossible to do!

ewenner sunbathing counts as long as you flip back and forth :D
  • @mattandlora ... surfing sounds great, though I live in Arizona, so, yeah.

@ewenner ... sunbathing is right up my alley, lol!

    1. How many weeks postpartum?
    Four

    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)?
    1.5

    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight?
    26.5 (at least)
    4. What is your overall plan?
I don't really have one right now.  It is super hot here in AZ right now and I am still on limited duty, so exercising is not in the cards.  Gonna pay more attention to what I eat this week (though I admit I already had cupcakes AND ice cream today).
    5. How did last week go?
    Eh. Not bad, not great.
    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
Pay more attention to what I'm eating.

QOTW - If time, finances, geography, etc were not a favtor, what would be your favorite outdoor activity?
Probably running (slowly) on the beach.  I really love being by the water.

  • I'm a bit late on this one this week, but here goes...

    1. How many weeks postpartum?  15 weeks

    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)? 5 lbs....making progress :)

    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight? 5 lbs, but as I said last week, starting to get more focused on my shape versus what the scale says, because I know once I hit that number I'm not going to be finished working to get my "pre-baby" bod back.

    4. What is your overall plan?  Well, I had been doing the workout DVD 4-5x/week and walking DS to camp 3x/week, and also watching my sweets and portions, but I think that I'm going to switch strategies now.  I've noticed that my belly is much more round than it was last time (3 pregnancies will do that I guess), and not just flabby if that makes sense.  It just doesn't seem to be going back to it's regular shape (I don't think 5 lbs. is going to do it), so I've been reading a bit on how regular stomach exercises are not good for post-pregnancy, especially if there has been a separation in your abdominal muscles - which I am now realizing that I probably have.  So someone on my birth month board posted about this "no more mummy tummy" challenge and I looked into it - it seems really compelling, so starting Monday I'm going to do that.

    5. How did last week go? I stuck to the plan.

    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week? Since I've been looking into this new abdominal/core workout, I'm going to give myself a week to transition and research/start learning the new exercises.  I'll still do the DVD a couple times and walks to DS camp will continue, and will stick to eating right.  I'm half way through the week and that's what I've been doing anyway :P

QOTW - If time, finances, geography, etc were not a favtor, what would be your favorite outdoor activity?

I love running on trails, but I don't have enough time or energy right now to do it - unfortunately if I want to run on the trail by my house, I would need to do it early morning or late evening, and I just don't think that is very safe where I live.  I don't really like running on the road, and forget about the treadmill.  My second choice would be skiing.  I'm not very great at it, but if I had more time, money and lived near some good mountains, I think I could change that.

@marija333 - surfing is hard, but SO much fun and addicting. Imagine a video game where you just want one more chance to defeat the level. Then you come really close but don't make it. Ok, just one more chance. Ok, no, this is really my last turn. That's what it's like, but with catching the perfect wave. Even as a beginner, just being motivated to coordinate everything and stand up on the board is addicting enough to keep you going. It's a great workout, but more importantly, it's fun and you don't realize how hard you're working. When I lived in Florida, I'd go on my days off. I'm pretty sure ohio is what made me fat

  • @mattandlora @marija333

I wanted so badly to like surfing, and was proud for even trying it since i'm not really comfortable in open water, but i just don't think it's going to happen unless I have a private break in the Caribbean. Getting beat up by cold Pacific waves and fighting the crowds is just too stressful! Until then I'll stick to the less exciting snorkelling :)

Now I'm totally fantasizing about a Caribbean vacation.... But then, when am I not!

  • @mattandlora Would love to try it someday! Goal is to paddle board first this October in SC. Small steps, LOL.  :-)
