Hi ladies. I haven't posted in a bit and only found the check in from the 12th, so I figured I would try to post a new one. I love checking in with you all, and feel that we are a very kind and supportive group. also, I don't know about you, but I am starting to really see that a multiple pregnancy is often pretty different then singles!! It's so much harder !!!
I am 18 weeks today, and have had it pretty rough the last week. I have been having bad round ligament pain in my groin, leaving me stranded resting on the couch. Every time I get up to do a little something such as housework, after 30min or so, maybe an hour I start to feel a burning pain and have to sit and rest before the bad pain kicks in. Then I find that I am getting winded easily - my shower today left me feeling like I had run laps. After that I had nothing in me to even try to do my hair or put a little makeup on. I've also been waking up in the middle of the night, and for the past two nights have a soreness and pain in my back that won't let me get comfortable in any position. I am starting to worry that if I am struggling this early, how bad is the rest of the pregnancy going to be?
How is it going for you ladies?
Re: Multiples Check In August 16th
as me. My back pain is always on the left too!!! Right now I am uncomfortably sitting on the couch- I can't sleep because of it.
I just ordered a belly support band from Amazon, I hope it helps somewhat.
On Wednesday I went to lunch with my sister in law at the mall, and then to motherhood to buy clothes for work - (I am a school counselor and start again soon. ) after trying on clothes and only going to that one store, we had to leave because I was so winded and uncomfortable, and got the pains again.
@keshakdavis - I also get winded from talking! But I'm often told I talk too fast, so that might be ok. I think I also forget to breathe when speaking. It's the worst when I'm trying to talk while walking. And don't get me started on stairs!
I was having back pain while sleeping and I found a wedge pillow at Baby's R Us that supports your belly when you lay on your side, it's really helped a lot and I've been able to sleep much better!
In other news I just heard both of their heartbeats at the midwife today and it made my day
I'm actually excited about getting bigger - because it means they're getting bigger
I'm 20w and like a few of you, in pain and not sleeping well! I have a U-shaped pillow to try to sleep on my side, but I am so uncomfortable I end up rolling onto my back throughout the night. My poor husband hasn't been sleeping well either. I have constant pain in my lower left side of my back. I've haven't had much breathlessness, but I do feel tired very easily. I have a good day and go to the gym, then the next day I'm wiped out.
I've gained 15pounds! As much as I'm loving my bump, I have a wedding this weekend and tried on maternity clothes all day today, almost cried because they all looked awful. I finally found a non-maternity dress, $230 but worth it because I felt nice and at this stage that feeling is priceless!
I saw my Dr the other day, she said we're aiming for the middle of Dec to give birth, 37w. Which means I've only got 17w to go! Crazy!
I am 17w3d today! But measuring to be 20 weeks! Lol babies are growing! Had my doctors appt yesterday, & FINALLY met my doctor. I've been seeing his nurse practitioner, who i love!! But we checked the heartrates and normally baby a stays in the 160's and baby b stays in the 140's. But yesterday baby a was 140 and baby b was 128. He was kind of concerned but said that im still in the safe zone... what?? I go see a specialist this Thursday, just to get second opinions about everything but it still has me nervous about baby b. Should i be? First time mom and not sure how "normal" everything is suppose to be..
I also toss and turn thru out the night. Seems like i cannot get a good night's rest. And the tummy/gas pains are worse at night. I'm ready for that part to be over with. & lower back pain is in full effect! Yay. Lol.
Hope all of you mommas are having a great week! Love getting on here and chatting with you all.
Last week we were totally panicked about something the doc told us and when we went in yesterday for a different scan we asked how worried we should be. The doctor replied "you should be more worried about raising and paying for twins" than about the concern. Hope you can stay positive!
Going tomorrow to find out what we're having and about the heart rates! Eeek!!!
I am having my baby shower in oct also. I'll be about 28 weeks. But thought that was plenty of time to set everything up and still be comfortable. But i think you'll be fine!
@emmalc16 a little uncomfortable maybe, but being around family and friends celebrating the twins will be worth it!
I also love u girls because on the regular board I worry about posting anything because a lot of ppl on the board go off on people about searching posts, or that their post should be somewhere else. With this thread I feel comfortable to just post whatever!
So on that note - I am super nauseous today. It's back with a vengeance
