Activity mat use - flatter head

My LO loves her activity mat but lying supine is giving her a flatter head. She is 14 weeks and I believe she has outgrown the Boppy noggin and other infant pillows to prevent flat head. Any suggestions?

  • I was going to suggest the noggin nest! I feel like the flat head gets worse before it gets better??
  • Loading the player...
  • We use the babymoon pillow. I have seen a slow but steady change since we started!
  • I have the same problem. We use the babymoon pillow too, but maybe it's just me, it looks like it's getting worse? Or maybe it's my paranoid mama worrier. She is a GREAT sleeper too, which means she is on ber back lots. Are you using the pillow when they sleep too?

No, I only do it whenever she is laying flat but awake.. Changing table, play mat, etc. I think babies just naturally have flatter heads until they sit up on their own.
  • Do you have an exersaucer? We put LO in hers a fair amount know using a blanket to giver her the extra support to not flop around in it and she loves it. We have also noticed a huge difference in her back, shoulder and neck strength since beginning to use it. I highly reccomend starting you LO and not laying will help with the shape of.her head.
  • We are getting an exersaucer this weekend. She has a bumbo and we do tons of tummy time when she is awake, but she sleeps 6-8 hours at night so those are times I can't do much about. As most of you say, once she can sit on her own, I'm hoping it'll round out more. I know it's just aesthetic but you know, mama worries haha
