First time for everything * Starbucks drive thru

Tonight I was having a hard time feeling frustrated and sore, and have had a few contractions today.
Today marks 39 weeks.

We went out for dinner and then hubby said "if tonight's the night what's your last wish before we head home?"
I said a caramel macchiato from Starbucks. So we went through the the drive thru and the lady looks at me and says to my hubby"oh she can't have this, she needs decafè".... Hubby said no regular is fine. She points to me and says "but the baby!!! You need decafè!!!" I told her regular is what I wanted and it's ok... So she tells me next time I should think about getting decafè....

This is the first time this pregnancy anyone has had a conflict with something I have done. And last time with my son I never got any comments.

    She didn't ruin it. Hubby and I tried to figure out why she might have felt the need to put her 2 cents in....Our conclusion was maybe be she is newly pregnant.

    I honestly can't function with out my morning coffee being 39 weeks and running after a one year old and my hubby.

    I tried without caffeine.... But hahaha def not giving it up!

    Plus I never had enough caffeine to reach the limits.

    Thats rude. Besides being totally wrong about pregnant women not being able to have any caffeine, its not any of her business. I have the worst temper when it comes to things like this, so I applaud you for being civil.

    I love my coffee every day. The ladies at Starbucks know what I like.. Lol.. Not a good thing.

    I drank caffeine my whole pregnancy. Blahh....

    I'm so jealous of the mamas that were able to give up the caffeine. I'm 40w2d & I refuse to walk in & purchase it myself bc I hate the nosey stares I make my fiancé do it & he doesn't even drink coffee :))

    I haven't had any caffeine this pregnancy (besides basic chocolate, etc). Just as a personal preference. But the other day I had a co-worker all over me about coming in with a DD coffee.. It was decaf first of all and second of all, she made a huge stink about me having caffeine infront of our patients! Wth!! I was so mad. I educated her that altho I preferred decaf through my pregnancy, pregnant woman can in fact have some caffeine! Ppl r ridiculous!

    Oh yes, everyone seems to be a pregnancy expert these days and has no qualms about providing unsolicited advice. Today I called my renters insurance agent and mentioned I was expecting- I felt I needed some kind of excuse for not renewing my car insurance with him- and he immediately told me I need to get an epidural. Seriously?? I'm like, "Dude! I just called to pay my premium." I want to believe all these people are well intentioned but at 39w 2d, I'm honestly not interested in what they have to say unless they have the magic solution for bringing on labor.

    I buy a trenta size iced coffee for my husband about once a week (and sometimes also a venti frappucinno for us to share) and no one says anything. I'm in NYC though so I might even be able to go to a bar without comment.

    @ajilli My in laws live in NY & I ordered a beer at 9 months pregnant (not for me, I was waiting for someone) & the waitress winked at me & said I understand I had one or two too during my pregnancy. The city is a different place lol !!!

    The same thing happened to me. I ordered regular coffee and she continuously asked me if I meant Decaf. After I yelled at her, the next 100 times I went to Starbucks over 8 months was a breeze!

    Today my midwife recommended that I go get a coffee (have had a headache the last 3 days)!! I was more than excited to do that since I haven't had a regular coffee since I got pregnant!! I loved it, and so didn't baby! Haha
