Baby Movements

Im at 18 weeks and 4 days. Is there anyone else that hasn't felt positive movement yet? I have been pretty lucky with minimal symptoms and still haven't been sure I have felt the baby move. Feeling worried. I just want to feel pregnant....

Re: Baby Movements

  • There was a similar post to this this morning... I am one day behind you (18 weeks plus three days). I had an elective ultrasound on Saturday and the technician showed me why I am not feeling him yet. He is moving like CRAZY... I just can't feel it... There is so much space between where he is and the top of my uterus... He just can't reach far enough for me to feel it yet. The also like to snuggle up to the placenta because it's so warm and very comforting to them. I was told closer to 20 weeks :). So breath and don't worry :)!

  • I'm 18 and 5 days. Haven't felt any movement and my midwife says that's normal
  • I don't get what you meant by positive movement I've felt tons but none of them have felt 'negative' but this has been posted already as well. Please do a board search. I'm 20 weeks btw.
  • I will be 20weeks Friday and have felt one movement and basically radio silence for the past couple weeks

  • Please search these boards, because this is asked all the time. Some feel it early and some feel it late, talk to your obgyn about any concerns.
  • 19 weeks and not sure if what I've felt is movement. As I understand, especially if you're a FTM, it can be as late as 22-24 weeks before you feel movement and that's normal. I know how you feel, last week I was suddenly very symptom free and was feeling anxious. But this week my round ligament pain has started again, my hips are killing me, I have a headache...but I'm much less anxious. ;)
  • I'm not sure you understood what she meant, or perhaps you are trying to be funny? @queencarlissa she clearly meant she isn't "positive" that she has felt movement yet...

It can be hard to distinguish at first from gas and other tummy sensations, more than likely you have felt it but can't tell the diffence quite yet, soon enough you will!
  • I mistook my baby's early movements for gas. I felt so silly when my OB found my squiggly's heartbeat where my 'gas pain' was. If you feel extra bloated or gassy it's probably your baby moving around like a jumping bean.

Other than that it's normal not to feel movement until after 21 weeks.

I'm on my 4th pregnancy and haven't felt this one move much yet but then it is a boy and with my other boy I was later! I don't know if it's true for all boys but (probably not) but certainly my boys aren't as active as my girls in the womb. My last pregnancy (a girl) was very squirmy from 16W this one I've only felt 2 or 3 times :( I'm sure he'll get moving soon though).
  • I swore I felt a couple jabs when I was laying on my stomach at 17+5 last week but nothing since so now I'm wondering if I really did feel anything at all.
  • I didn't feel anything for the longest time but all of a sudden in the past couple days it's been hard to ignore. I'm a FTM so I'm not 100% sure if what i'm feeling is baby moving but, it feels different than anything i've ever felt before. It feels kind of like a fart but on the inside...if that makes sense lol.

I clearly stated in my comment I didn't quite understand as well so to answer your question no I didn't it was just how it was put together. I still gave the answer she was looking for anyway. I'm not one of those mamas who come here and are purposely rude for no reason.
