Exclusive pumpers....When you go out with LO how do you store the breast milk? Just keep it in a cooler? And then how do you warm it up for baby? Thanks
My diaper bag came with a little insulated "tube" for bottles. I usually bring two bottles, one straight from my fridge stash (so it cools the whole tube) and a fresh bottle that I pump right before I leave. I haven't been gone long enough to need more than that, except when traveling. When we flew I kept two bottles on an ice pack, and then moved one to the insulated tube once I used the freshest milk from that pouch.
I almost always free her before errands and pump right before we leave. Thus I just toss fresh milk in my bag. Once I needed to take a fridge bottle, again just put it in my bag and then asked Starbucks for a cup of hot water while I had my coffee.
Restaurants will give you hot water. I assume you could run under a hot faucet too. I just find fresh to be the easiest to deal with.
I carry refrigerated bottles in a Medela cooler bag I got at Target. It comes with an ice pack. I also carry a plastic cup in my diaper bag. I fill it with hot water from any bathroom faucet and put the bottle in for 2-4 min.
Thanks ladies! I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding so I'll be unavailable to breastfeed some of the time. Hubby will have LO and we're both clueless when it comes to feeding a bottle Outside of the house! I'm going to pack the milk in a lunch cooler bag with an ice pack and also pack a cup as mentioned for warming. I'm also going to see if we can keep the milk in the fridge at the hall of its not too much of a hassle
I carry a flask of hot water in the diaper bag, not all faucets have water warm enough to warm a bottle and you don't always find a cafe or reataurant for a quick fill
Re: Breast milk while out
Hope that makes sense!
