I am 9 wks 4 days and I am feeling winded and out of breath... Geez! Stairs are the worst, but even just fast paced longer walks too! I feel like I've gotten huge (but haven't just a belly, bloated?) since I can hardly breathe! And I'm pretty fit and active (5'7 130 lbs)! When did you all start showing your bellys? And are you also feeling out of breath?

  • Stairs are the worst. I've been walking for at least 30 mins on my lunch break and that seems to be helping overall!

  • Have you had your iorn levels checked yet? I am pretty sure I am Iorn dificensy anemic this time around and being g out of breath is a big symptom although it is also a symptom of being g pregnant bit always good to look into if you feel you are getting over the top winded.

  • I totally feel you.  I'm 8w5d now and am sucking wind all the time.  I play tennis every day and for a few weeks already I've been so out of breath and wheezing at even the slightest bit of running/sprinting.  Am trying to push through it, but am also mindful to take breaks as necessary.  I started out at 5'4" and about 115lbs. and just look so bloated now - I even had a teammate ask if I was pregnant last week already because I'm usually so tiny.  Ugh.  With my 2nd I don't remember showing until more like 16-18 weeks, but I was also less fit at the time....

  • So out of breath! Had to get an inhaler! I'm already showing but I'm having twins. Right now at 10.5 weeks I'm the size I was at 20 weeks with my first. :-/
  • Not showing a bit and I'm 10 weeks tomorrow. I'm so out of breath and tired I can barely keep my eyes open by 2pm. I'm a teacher with a 7-4:30 day and I don't know how I'm going to make it until March!
  • Just barely showing in the belly (bloat) but feel HUGE anyway. YES to the out of breath. Not even when I run, just a general ongoing sense of winded ness. I hate it!
  • It's all the extra blood our hearts are pumping :) I work on the second floor and yep, out of breath every time I go up those darn stairs.  8 months pregnant is awful and I'm dreading February.

I hear ya! I'll really notice the need to breathe when I go for a walk whereas before I would only feel like that during/after a run. Even sometimes when I'm sitting on the couch I need to take a huge breath. It sounds like I'm exasperated and I get funny looks!

  • yup,  I feel you. I was really struggling with this a couple weeks ago  (I'm  12 weeks now).
It's gotten better.  Hopefully it will for you too.
  • Yes. I get out of breath so easily. My arms also get incredibly fatigued very easily every time I'm pregnant, it's one of the first signs for me. Hanging up laundry is the worst!
