What "Down syndrome test" are you referring to? If it was just a screening the it would be possible to have a very low chance (negative) and then LO have DS.
There was a post within the last week of a baby with DS who showed none of the classic signs during pregnancy screenings.
I actually do know someone who had genetic testing (amnio) while pregnant that was negative and the baby was born with DS. This is so rare though that their testing is now apart of a research study figuring out how false negatives even happen.
Your best bet is to get with pediatrician to ask anything you need or want to know. If you arent satisfied, get a second opinion. Ask about any other health factors that could be involved, the post earlier this week the mom is going to a cardiologist as well over additional health concerns. I have no experience with DS or what health concerns go along the diagnosis, but this is a time to go to all the appropriate doctors and find out what you need for your child. I wish you luck in this and just remember every LO is so special and a diagnosis does not define who they are. Fight for you baby, they will need you more than ever to get the answers you and they need to have a happy, healthy future. GL momma.
