Favorite Wrap/Carrier

I have a Moby Wrap, but am curious what others have found and liked. I love wearing my daughter, but the Moby Wrap is kind of a pain to put on. I'm thinking about getting a carrier or sling that is easier to put on. Any suggestions?

Re: Favorite Wrap/Carrier

  • I loved my boba wrap but recently got a ring sling. Much easier to put on!

  • I like ergo wrap
  • I have a mei tai and really like it. It's a good combination of a soft and structured carrier and super easy to use.

  • I have a Moby and was so excited to baby wear before baby was born but since I ended up with a c-section I have been hesitant to try. Baby is 2 weeks old so I have been thinking about trying now
  • I love my Moby, but it is kind of annoying to get on (it's so long!!). I couldn't imagine using it in a store or something because of having to wrap and tie it. I didn't put my daughter in it until she was 4 weeks because she was small and I was too nervous!
  • Baby hates the Moby! Seems to like the Bjorn though!
  • I just got a sling by sakurabloom so far we love it.
  • I have an Ergobaby and love it. Was thinking about the Moby but thought tying it would be too hard. Two thumbs up for Ergobaby!
  • Love love love my k'tan. Super easy, comfy, and baby James LOVES it!

@mikromorof how much does baby James weigh? I have one but have been nervous to try it just yet...

  • @mrsrep123 I have a ktan as well. My LJ LOVES it! He weighs a little over 10 lbs.

I also have an Eddie Bauer carrier that my husband uses. My second favorite carrier came from Guatemala.

I also have an evenflo, but that is my least favorite. Seems to be a bit flimsy.
  • Another vote for k'tan. Love it! Started using it right away but DD was 9lbs 6oz at birth.
  • Absolutely love my Tula WCRS!
  • I've used the moby (and the solly wrap which is similar to the moby but lighter weight) and like that for smaller babies - I think it does take about 5-10 times using it to really get used to getting it wrapped quickly but then it's really easy. I often would put it on before I went somewhere and just put the baby in when I got there directly from the carseat.

My favorite is the ergo by far - I've used it for nearly 6 years through 3 kids and especially with my middle kid, we used it with him until he was 2 easily. My only issue with it is that it's pretty hot to use right now, and since I had a c-section it rubs right at my incision so I've been using the wrap because I can wrap myself higher up than the ergo sits.
  • I had the money and baby born with first and hares the born, the mint just never seemed right enough. I looked into for my second and invested in the ergo- I LOVE it. I have a bad back and I wore him the other day for 4 hours and was not sore versus the other two.

  • Get the Solly Wrap! It's like what the Moby SHOULD have been - less fabric, very breathable and much simpler to tie. My little nugget loves it and so do I.
  • I love the baby k'tan. Really easy to put the baby in and take her out. She loves it. I've been using it every day for the last week. She wants to be held all day and this way I can do everything except pump without her screaming. She weighs about 8 pounds now and seems secure in there.
  • I have a Moby that was gifted to me- takes some practice for sure but is nice once you get the hang of it. I'll admit I wish I had the Solly instead for the same reasons as PPs have said- same concept, lighter weight. I also have an Ergo and it also took some practice esp with the infant insert, but I went shopping the other day with baby in the ergo and it worked great. Haven't gone out with the Moby but I think I would tie it on before I left and then put baby in it when i got to wherever i was going.
