There is a pregnancy safe synthetic thyroid hormone you can take and your TSH levels will be monitored closely throughout pregnancy and medication adjusted accordingly.
It is fairly common. I am hypothyroid and have been taking TSH for at least 10 years. Mine is related to high levels of radiation I experienced as a child. In any case, during pregnancy, the demands on your thyroid to produce TSH typically go up. Thus sometimes you may need supplementation with synthetic form of TSH (since the thyroid may not be able to keep up with demand). I usually have my dosage adjusted up by about 30% - 50%.
