Pre eclampsia

so I went to see my consultant today. I've had bad headaches for over a week, feeling sick, light headed and mild swelling with tummy pain. My blood pressure was 135/84 and they found 2 plus traces of protein in my urine. I'm waiting for my blood test results for pre eclampsia today snd also have to do a 24 hour urine test. I'm starting to panic now it was only yesterday I posted a discussion about not having my hospital bag sorted!

Re: Pre eclampsia

  • I'm in a similar situation, I get to do the 24 hour collect as well. However I didn't have high blood pressure any of the times I was checked but I did have protein iny urine.

    -Epsom salts,tucks pads.
-snacks for after babe is born.
-nursing bra, going home outfit for you, cheap night gown or two.
    -diapers,wipeys,baby sleepers and socks,mitties.
Bath products for babe. Good luck!! We've always been due on he same day I'm pretty sure! Thinking of you!
  • I'm all sorted for baby :) I only ordered my bras yesterday there not due for delivery til Monday though lol my mums out buying me some pads and pants for me after delivery. I think all that's left is some breast pads. I've put some baby clothes in the wash and left some out just incase I am called to the hospital later. Trying to rest up at the minute :( I'm due on 17th September but looks like she might come earlier. Thank you :)
  • So I did a 3 day stint in the hospital for monitoring for preeclampsia. Luckily the Dr let me out on strict bedrest. One of my aunts came down and helped us get everything finished, including packing all of the hospital bags. So I was definitely the dork at the hospital completely unprepared. But remember, there is always amazon for baby and after care stuff, etc! Good luck!
  • Remember the hospital has a lot of after care stuff they will give you. And if you have pre-e you're probably more likely to have a c section so you won't need a lot of what you would've put in the hospital bag (don't need music etc for labour or anything to care for "down there" afterwards). I had an emergency c section and just needed my partner to bring me underwear, Nighties and toiletries
  • I luckily don't have pre e but there checking my blood pressure and urine every couple of days because I keep getting high levels of protein. She said Theres a chance I may get induced but we're not 100% sure yet
