Okay this may just be a weird thing going on, but has anyone else noticed missing pigment on their hands and feet? Little white dots. Is this a pregnancy thing?
I haven't. But when my mum was pregnant with my brother she developed vitiligo, her skin developed white patches and eventually she lost all of her pigmentation.
It can definitely be caused by pregnancy. Hyper/hypopigmentation is a pretty common thing during pregnancy and other major hormonal changes in the body. Sunscreen will definitely help keep it under control and prevent further discoloration. As long as you're not seeing raised bumps and irritation, it's nothing to be concerned about. Most people notice a return in normal pigmentation in the months postpartum but it never hurts to talk to a dermatologist to see what your options are to treat hypopigmentation. White spots are treated a little differently than dark spots.
I understand that many changes in skin happen during pregnancy, but was just wondering if anyone else was noticing little white dots on hands and feet?
Yes, I have a couple whiter spots on my arms that happened in the last few months. I also bruise and scar easier. . . The slightest bump into furniture and I get a massive black spot. It's really attractive.
